i think that this problem is caused by the way the 
passive display works. i remember on my pb100 that if 
you set the "portable" control panel to never sleep, it 
will warn you that the longer you leave it on, the 
worse your screen will get, and you will have to leave 
it in sleep for a LONG time to fix the screen (like 
overnight). try to sleep it a couple hours after the 
problems show up, then see how it recovers

Another observation on this effect:  I have a 280 screen that does 
this.  I ran it for a while until it got dark corners.  I then turned 
it off (no battery or AC), and even after 1/2 hour or so, the corners 
are still dark.  I dont really know enough to make something of this, 
but I have the feeling it means something.
