I got the 2-partition thing to work, but I was fiddling- I set it up
as one partition mac, once version unix, then changed the unix one to
FAT32 on a PC.
I've not done it "from scratch" on the Mac, but it should not be
intrinsically much different than one Mac, one Unix partition...
This was 10.2.8.

Can you get one mac/ one unix partition set up at least? If not,
that's just strange.

Today or tomorrow I will get one more drive (Seagate 5 yr warranty
120gig $40 at Circuit City :) and set up one more external box, so I
can play at that time.

I think someone asked about what utility I used to do this a couple
weeks ago, sorry I didn't get back about that.

HTH.

What version of disk utility? (or OS I guess).

I got this one from Computer Geeks: $25, it looks nice, no
problems with it so far (though its only been a couple of weeks.)

Dave asked about a "firewire/USB 2.0 enclosure." Your Geeks
enclosure is only for Firewire.

Oops, here's one with both:

The company that makes mine also makes an identical USB/FW enclosure,
but I don't recall the model number it was on the box.

Re: Best Enclosure?

2005-08-04 Thread Dave Foshee
I suppose I am looking for a USB 2.0 and Firewire 800 enclosure that will
hold a 3.5" drive up to 300 GB capacity. That would be best. The less
expensive the better.

Thanks!

Dave

I've got the drive but need the enclosure. It is a 3.5" drive.

While not knowing your definition for "best," I suggest that you take
a look at the Argosy enclosure from PC Micro:

I have several of these stylish vertical aluminum enclosures, which
are well designed and yet reasonably priced.
