Re: Powerbook 1400 upgrade
I upgraded a PB1400cs/133 with a Sonnet 400/1mb. It worked fine for me. Mike Dolberry --- Geoffrey [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Bob I am also very skeptical, so I wrote to Sonnet tech support pointing out the problems being brought up on various web sites about the 1400 and their card, I asked if this problem has been resolved. I wonder if I will get an answer. No happy G3 1400 upgraders out there Geoff Geoff, Thanks for pointing out Sonnet's official response. They posted these support comments AFTER I purchased and installed the Crescendo G3 333 in my PB 1400c/166. However, I am still somewhat skeptical, since I purchased my Crescendo G3 upgrade in December 2000 from MacMall. I do not recall whether the chip designation was PBG3B, or not. Do the Crescendo G3 400 MHz have the same problems in a 1400c 166?? Like you, I planned that the upgrade was going to be fun.. Bob -- PowerBooks is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... Re: Powerbook 1400 upgrade
I'm pretty happy with my Sonnett upgrade. Of course, I'm using a 133 machine, but the upgrade was painless and has worked flawlessly. smiles, Jamie On 8/28/01 9:14 PM, Geoffrey [EMAIL PROTECTED] typed: Bob I am also very skeptical, so I wrote to Sonnet tech support pointing out the problems being brought up on various web sites about the 1400 and their card, I asked if this problem has been resolved. Powerbook 1400 upgrade
http://www.sonnettech.com/support/techtips/cpbtt01.html This is Sonnets offical view of this problem, seems they are saying only effects the early 512's, I was going to use the 400 1mb . Does this really make a difference or as I asked before do the problems still keep going no matter what model 512 or 1 gig . Thanks Geoff -- PowerBooks is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
