Do it yourself :)  is the most cost effective.

What's it doing, did you post what its problems were already?  I don't see
a subject line that looks right, in the last couple days.

The Apple store/repair place in Ann Arbor is good, but most apple places
just send things to Apple now, which you could do yourself with a fedex box
and a big amount of credit card.

Most repairs just consist of parts swapping really, some motherboard
soldering sometimes but rarely.  Quite doable if you have the patience and
$ to get a part/parts machine from ebay or wherever.
