t you could split the downlaod in half using Split It and then 
transfer on 2 disks ?

Just plug a mouse into the ADB port.

Can you tap and double-tap in the trackpad? I don't know if it's possible,
as I don't have a 2400, but maybe ...

I've had the same problem some time, I think if you boot the Mac with the
Zip disk into the Zip drive, it gets mounted, even without Iomega driver.
Also, it can get mounted by means of some SCSI Probe or similar. I suppose
you have an external SCSI Zip drive, like mine.
