Correct assumption. You need to replace the stacked 24s with a single 48.
(Been there, done that.) The OEM Apple video card works with stacked RAM,
(smaller card with less VRAM) but has only 8 bit vs the ViewPower's 16 bit
color.

yeah, it is either or for that. Either stacked ram or single ram and video card.
It's yet another bummer of an otherwise terrific design.
