*Role Description:*

   - Install / configure Revitas end-2-end (Apache/JBoss/database)
   - Perform environment management and configuration management (using
   Dimensions)
   - Perform incident management, environment diagnostics and remediation
   - Perform capacity management and pro-active application/environment
   monitoring
   - Operational support of non-production environments
   - Environment testing and check out scripting
   - Support the Performance Testing and Performance Engineering teams
   - Flex/ContractSphere application administration
   - Create Software Architecture, Design Documents, and Test Plans
   - Work with the Business Continuity Team to refine and test disaster
   recovery systems and procedures
   - Work collaboratively with development, QA and other administrators to
   develop and implement improved deployment practices



*Skill Requirements:*

   - JBoss and Apache engineering - installation, configuration, tuning,
   operational experience
   - Experience developing and deploying infrastructure using Redhat JBoss
   – 5+ years
   - Experience optimizing and tuning the Java Virtual Machine in a high
   volume production environment
   - LINUX administration / tuning experience (RHEL preferred)
   - Experience developing, testing and debugging on Linux systems
   (preferably Redhat) – 5+ years
   - 5+ years of UNIX/Linux(RHEL/OEL) systems administration in a 100+
   server environment supporting highly available, customer-facing services
   - Java/J2EE programming experience - Solid understand of programming and
   software development to the level necessary to interface with and guide
   software development groups from a systems and infrastructure perspective
   - Proficient with at least one Shell scripting language (i.e. bash, CSH,
   KSH, Perl, python)
   - SQL/PL-SQL programming / tuning – 2+ years
   - Operational experience in environment similar to PFE (i.e. not ma/pa
   store) – 2+ years
   - Configuration management tool experience, Dimensions referred – 2+
   years
   - Documentation skills to record installations and configurations
   - Load balancing (i.e. Cisco ACE, Cisco CSS) knowledge/familiarity
   - BS/MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering and at least
   6+ years’ experience

*Soft Skills:*

   - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
   - Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
   - Must be a self-starter with the ability to multitask, work
   independently, as well as positively participate on a team
   - Experience supporting 24x7 critical systems in B2B and B2C
   - Experience working in agile environment with frequent software
   releases is desired
   - 2+ years of development experience at the senior engineer level to
   include technical project lead duties

Primary Responsibilities:

   - In conjunction with the Systems Integration (SI) Vendor, create,
   design and implement the IT infrastructure for the modernization project.
   - Ensure maximum site availability to customers and partners; conduct
   health monitoring of key servers, processes, and application components;
   responsible for detection, ownership, and resolution of production issues;
   and coordinate application code builds and deployments.
   - Engage with MassDOT and ITD to stay abreast of enterprise changes; to
   conduct proof of concepts and pilots of new technology components; and to
   drive the delivery of infrastructure work either as part of program
   projects or as part of internal infrastructure upgrade initiatives.
   - Proactively act to define, predict, and deploy technology and
   infrastructure upgrades; to conduct performance testing; to provide
   release-level planning and coordination.
   - Incorporate “best practice” design elements and vendor’s technical
   roadmap plans.
   - Identify and address any potential and real risks associated with the
   program.
   - Update management on all aspects of the design process and seek
   assistance as appropriate.
   - Ensure adherence to standards and procedures for production control,
   troubleshooting and problem resolution.
   - Participate in technical and design reviews to ensure alignment with
   infrastructure requirements and priorities.

Qualifications:

*Education, Skills and Competencies:*



   - BA or BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or
   related field.  Advanced degree desirable.
   - Minimum 7 years demonstrated experience leading large projects and
   project teams in operational and infrastructure deployments.
   - Must have extensive experience designing data center equipment
   implementations in relation to relocation/co-location projects, with a
   focus on re-architecting to improve efficiencies and manageability.
   - Must thoroughly understand server virtualization and replication
   technologies.
   - Experience with server farms, computer operations, storage systems,
   voice and data networks, LANs, WANs, internet filtering appliances and
   server-based applications is highly preferred.
   - Proven ability to produce and deliver infrastructure designs.
   - Demonstrated success in bringing complex projects to completion and
   ability to coordinate collaboratively with multiple SME resources.
   - An expert in production control operations in an enterprise
   environment.
   -  Ensure acceptable and consistent levels of performance through
   optimization both proactively (capacity management, performance testing)
   and reactively (monitoring, logging).
   - Working knowledge of active directory and all supported
   services/servers such as DHCP, SMS, QIP DNS, Email, Anti- Virus,
   workstation login, shared directory services/file servers, remote
   access/VPN, MS SQL. Experience a plus with HP EVA and EMC Clarion SAN.
   - Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
   - Flexibility to adapt to new technologies and changing work
   environments.
