The same with me if I do NOT look at the HTML in the browser window
first. If I do there is no flash but the empty message window immediately
after the alternative text has disappeared because I clicked on the globe
selecting "show HTML".

Try resizing the window slightly.

Opening a mail in a new window I cannot see the HTML although the globe
is shown:
PM displays nothing. In the browser window HTML is rendered.

[ANN] PowerMail 5.0.2 and 5.1b1 available

2004-09-29 Thread PowerMail info

Dear PowerMail list member,

We are hereby pleased to announce the availability of the PowerMail 5.0.2
final release, which can be directly downloaded from:

Furthermore, we are also seeding PowerMail 5.1b1, a public beta release
containing all of the improvements of 5.0.2 PLUS the HTML rendering
options found in Safari.

Release notes and information on managing your subscription to this list
are included below.

Best regards,

the PowerMail team<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

> POWERMAIL 5.0.2 RELEASE NOTES - SEPTEMBER 2004
---

PowerMail 5.0.2 change list (from 5.0.1)

 Bug fixes

   * A crash could occur when retrieving a message whose size is an exact
 multiple of 4096 bytes
   * The "URLs in header" popup did not show https URLs
   * Any AppleScript called by PowerMail that contained its script in the
data fork but whose file also had a resource fork would result in
potential changes not being saved upon quitting.
   * When attempting to save a script upon quitting without access rights
(i.e. using a non-administrator account) PowerMail could crash upon
 quitting.
   * If the location or version of SpamSieve has changed, PowerMail was
repeatedly asking the user to locate it. Now, PowerMail should ask only
 once and remember.
   * The disk image now contains the most recent version of SpamSieve, 2.2.1
   * Fixed three minor glitches in the German-language plug-in
   * Fixed a crash when launching PowerMail with the command and option keys
 pressed, when using DragThing 5.3.1.

> POWERMAIL 5.1b1 PUBLIC BETA RELEASE NOTES - SEPTEMBER 2004
---

PowerMail 5.1b1 change list (from 5.0.2)

 Major feature

   * PowerMail 5.1b1 contains all of the improvements found in version 5.0.2
with the addition of WebKit integration for displaying HTML messages.
This means that all of the rendering code found in Safari is now part
of PowerMail's display, instead of Apple's old HTML rendering library
that they have stopped supporting. When viewing HTML messages, benefits
 include:
o Vastly improved rendering quality and reliability
o Supports modern HTML (HTML 4, CSS...)
o The HTML text is now selectable, copiable, and quotable
o No more freezing on oddly-formatted or partially retried messages
o Support for the mouse scroll wheel as well as the usual PowerMail
  navigation keys (space bar, etc...)
o Java, Javascript, and plugins are disabled for security and
  privacy reasons
   * Known bugs
o Printing does not honor the page setup options and does not
  display the print dialog
o Printing can only occur when the HTML pane has the current focus

Feature Request: CSS Display of Text Mail?

2004-09-29 Thread Lally Singh

I noticed that 5.1b1 is up, with wonderful webkitted goodness. Hooray!!

Now, that it's in I just have to ask: it it possible to present text
email messages using webkit and a user-selected stylesheet? I know it
sounds a little off, but NetNewsWire 2.0beta in 3-pane view is
absolutely gorgeous like that.

Its looking good!

Yes that seems to explain the reason why. BTW DragThing - as excellent
as it is - has another little drawback in combination with ReadIris 9.0,
if someone uses this app too: when launching ReadIris from DT ReadIris
does not display his working window, the application remains unusable. A
normal launch from finder does not show this problem.

2004-09-29 Thread Mirko Kranenburg

That seems to be a very plausible explanation!

Future releases of DragThing and/or PowerMail should handle the matter
more gracefully, though.
But: the support for PowerMail by Dragthing is in itself a very good
thing, as way too many apps focus on Mail and Entourage only.

I thought it was that the newer version of DragThing messages PowerMail
to get a count of unread messages in the inbox to display in its docks,
and that disrupts the First Aid recovery somehow. I don't think it
interacts any other way.

I know, it opens one new message per file (if one drags in several
files). Not exactly what one would want.

Thanks for this helpful hint, it resolved the problem!

What bothers me now: I always thought, that in OSX all the applications
are working in their own areas of the RAM. That fact that the presence of
one affects another app is somewhat irritating.

Re(3): Moving Spam to Trash

2004-09-29 Thread Mark Smith

As I suspected. The Preferences - Mark as Spam - Move to Trash options
does NOT work. You need to manually add the Spam: actions filter. Jerome,
will this be fixed in 5.0.2?
