[Fwd: Re: PM 4 download link]
Original Message Subject: Re: PM 4 download link From:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Date:Tue, September 6, 2005 2:12 pm To: "Shark Attack Design" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- Thanks a lot, Rick, I already have PM4, but the problem is that where PM5 has all icons as neat separate files in the application bundle, only the icons for the files PM4 makes are available as such from the app-bundle of v4. The blue-@ is therefore hidden in some other resource file in the bundle, and other than messing with archaic stuff like ResEdit, I have no clue how to get it out. And even with ResEdit: if I get the picture, I am not capable of getting that picture in the proper icns format. But thanks again! Many permissions of AdressBook and Safari were repaired. I don't know how they got corrupted. Then I had to restart, repair PM with the options in Command-option and select my "Benutzerumgebung" (user database?) and repair PM again and now everything seems to be alright. Thank you! Childish question, perhaps
Hi, I want to admit something: one of the most thrilling things of beauty in PowerMail is to me simply the way a print-out of an email looks. Nice, subtle grayscale touches, beautiful. I really am surprised myself how important that seems to be to me. There. I said it. However, in the upgrade to 5.x, the printout of the blue @ that precedes addressees is much less nice to look at. It's bold aqua is jagged, the tint is less subtle than the v4 version. Does anyone know how I can get the v4 version back? I know already which icns file I need to replace in the PowerMail application package, I just need to get my hands on the replacement file. Any help really very much appreciated! Mirko

PM crashes immediatly
PowerMail crashes immediatly at start. This says the crash log. Does anybody understand? Command: PowerMail Path: /Applications/PowerMail/PowerMail.app/Contents/MacOS/PowerMail Version: PowerMail version 5.2.1 build 4397 (5.2.1) PID: 488 Thread: Unknown Link (dyld) error: dyld: /Applications/PowerMail/PowerMail.app/Contents/MacOS/PowerMail Undefined symbols: AddressBook undefined reference to _kSKMinTermLength expected to be defined in CoreServices -- http://www.subhash.at High Power Projection Screen|Web|GrafikDesign
Apple Addressbook - again...
Cheshirecat wrote the following quote in june 2004 and things are still inconsistent with how PM works with the Apple Addressbook. I just decided to finally start using the Addressbook for contacts, instead of Palm Desktop, but many people warned for synching both ways, so I kind of set out to use the Addressbook as a replacement for the PM address functionality. Obviously if the prefs have been set to use the Apple addressbook, there is where most editing commands should take you, no? I too would like to see this made more coherent and living up to basic expectations. >Howdy all! > >If you right-click on a "From: " email address, you get the following >menu choices: > >Copy >Reveal in Address Book >Open Contact >Open Contact in PowerMail Address Book >New Message To > >The "Reveal in Address Book" choice opens the contact in PowerMail's >address book. So, essentially, it appears you have three ways (items 2, >3, 4) to view the same contact in the PowerMail address book, but still >no way to open the address in Apple's Address Book. But wait; if you >choose item 3, "Open Contact" it actually does open Apple's Address Book >- to "reveal" the contact. Confusing, isn't it? My preferences are set to >use Apple's Address Book in Preferences> Synchronization>"Open contacts >in Apple Address Book by default". > >If you right-click on a "From: " email address, that isn't already in >your Address Book, the menu choices are: > >Copy >Add to Address Book >New Message To > >That menu makes sense (although it obviously isn't concerned with >honoring the preferences) because once again, you end up in PowerMail's >address book.
