If you can't repair your database using the built-in tools (compact, low level rebuild...) you should use backup of your database (if you have one that can be successfully compacted). You can export the recent messages from your corrupted database, and import them in the backup. To do so, search for message whose date received is more recent that the date of the backup, select all the results, then export the selected messages to the PowerMail Exchange format. If you have no valid and recent backup, you may try to export your complete database, then create a new user environment (menu file/database) and import your messages there. If a crash occurs during this, try to export your folders one (or a few) at a time. Jérôme - CTM Engineering - FoxTrot is way better and faster than Spotlight and seriously more usable. With around 20 docs on my 60Gig drive, using Spotlight is just hopeless. Searches with FoxTrot are just instantaneous and you can view them in all sorts of ways. The preview is just wonderful. PM crashes on startup
My wife is running PM version 5.2.2. She went to do a search and it told her that it needed to rebuild the sort indices and gave her the choice of search as is or to rebuild the indices. She told it to rebuild the indices and it crashed with about 2 minutes left on the rebuild. She opened it up again and started a low level database rebuild. It crashed while doing that. Her PM runs, but there is obviously a problem. Where do we go from here? Thanks for any help. John

I tried to put this up before, but have not been receiving mail from the list, so if this has been seen and answered, please re-submit the answer. Thanks for any help. John
