Powermail 5.1 fails to load after migration to a new MAChine [u]

2005-01-22 Thread Rolf Nordahl

Aloha,

A client of our Mac shop in Honolulu (http://MacMouse.Com) telephoned
to report that he cannot fire up PowerMail after migrating (via Apple's
new setup utility) to a new PowerBook. Both MAChines are running
10.3.7.

I suggested moving the .plist files outside of his user/Library to no
help. Repairing Permissions also brought no joy.

Any ideas?

This is not just a PowerMail issue; the Macromedia forums have many
similar complaints about the Studio MX software components (Dreamweaver,
Flash, etc.).

Seems to be a problem with the migration tool, have not seen a solution
yet. (Have not looked either, just happened to see it mentioned last
night while looking for another problem I'm having).

Good luck!

Try to reinstall StuffIt, if it was previously installed; if that does
not work, can you give me more details about what happens exactly, and
send me a crash log in case of a crash?

Did you also run it from OSX install disk? It seems to be a common
problem that Application Support directory is hosed. AppleJack might
help, too.
