[Prime] Using fewer threads

2009-07-13 Thread Chris Marble
I'm running Mersenne Prime Test Program, Version 25.9.8 on dual CPU, quad core
box.
I'd like to reduce the 8 threads to 6. Is there an easy way to do this? I'd
like to let the exponents run to completion.

Are you running mprime or Prime95? An easy way is to go into the test
menu and reduce the number of worker windows from 8 to 6. You will need
to manually edit the worktodo.txt - after exiting Prime95 - and move
exponents from workers 7 and 8 to other workers.
