My alternative would be to mandate all electric automobiles by a certain date so all manufactures would begin development now. The production and transmission of the electricity would be by various means - gradually moving away from anything that burns. There are many good ways to make electricity that are not being promoted. Hi Kam! It only works currently if you only need to drive 100 miles or so between longish recharges.
