I would agree with that...especially from the perspective of the
end-users (e.g., Office users), but developers are a bit different and
may care since they use the products a bit differently than regular Joe
End-Users.

Hahahaha. I don't think the customers really give a rats ass about the
philosophy of the company. Instead they want a quality product that isn't
blue screening. Past that the average computer user doesn't care. IMO

It is a strange choice of terms. What do they want to "win?"
Domination of the desktop? Brand recognition?

I don't think Microsoft's customers are thinking they want Microsoft
to "win." I think they want Microsoft to be a good citizen, a
standards-bearer (not dictator), an industry leader, a supporter of
the customer's needs. Too bad that's not what Microsoft wants.

Actually, I think it was more like 3 years that he worked for them.

Certainly with comments like this, they'd run him out the door! When he
worked for them, was it like the movie "The Natural" where "The Man"
tried to buy off the players who were a threat to their interests?
Perhaps he refused to be assimilated?

Scoble hasn't been a MicroSoftie for some time. Even when he was
working for the company, he was pretty much an anomaly. I don't think
he lasted a year.
