Yes I was talking about phptek 2007 in Chicago.

Well I got here early for the in-depth (read long) sessions on Tuesday and
took the php 5 crash course stuff, and then took the zend certification exam
since it was being offered for free here. I think may have done pretty
horrible on it though.

Wednesday Rasmus Lerdorf, the creator of PHP, gave the keynote and he was
good but the sound equipment was malfunctioning horribly. I sat in "Writing
Maintainable PHP Code", which I thought was sort of obvious stuff. I also
went to "Services made Simple with PHP" which was a look at PHP SCA (Service
Component Architecture), and I saw DB Design for PHP Developers which also
covered a lot of topics I was familiar with.

Today I've seen "Top 15 ways to Kill MySQL Performance" which I thought was
very interesting. I also saw a session on PHP Data Objects which was good,
and I'm sitting in "The Standard PHP Library" now.

Overall its been pretty good but I have to say the same thing alot of others
have said. I like the overall vibe and friendliness of the Fox and its
developers and no other group seems to come close.

No, I hadn't even heard of the conference. That's php|tek Chicago
2007, right? There's another phptek, but that was last month.

Well, no offense to SWFox or FoxForward, but GLGDW was one of the best
conferences ever. You'll have a hard time find another that measures
up. (Don't tell Whil, though: he'll get a big head.)

So, what's it like? What sessions did you see and what did you think of them?
