Cool ;-) nice job!

Just a hint: to align the page content on the left, you just need to
mark the 'full width' box.

[libreoffice-projects] LibreOffice Magazine International is organizing with sign-up sheet

2011-06-20 Thread Marc Paré
With the help of the *Brazilian team*, an effort to organize an
international version of LibreOffice Magazine has been created.

If you are interested in participating, on a regular basis, to the
production of the "LibreOffice Magazine International" (the
international EN version) please feel free to sign-up on this page[1].
As there are many different posts to fill, it would greatly help if you
could let us know of any skills that you wish to bring to the project.
Feel free to view the "LibreOffice Magazine Brasil -- Collaborators
" page for an
example of some of the tasks that you may be able to fill. We should
also acknowledge the Brazilian team who has offered its help and
expertise with the production/structure of the magazine.

You must be willing to use the LibreOffice suite as the tool of choice
for the full production -- Writer and Draw are the modules most used in
the production of the magazine. The LibreOffice suite is the tool by
which the magazine will showcase its abilities to serve as a
professional tool.

Cheers,

Marc

I send you how to to access off list.
You will have to create new tests following the naming scheme we have
put in place for the different languages (the tests numbers are also
relevant for maintaining them).
Once created, the testers will access them via the normal account they
will create.
If you have already translate them on the wiki, a simple copy/paste
should work.

[libreoffice-projects] [magazine] question about authors

2011-06-20 Thread drew
Hi,

I reached out to a professional writer with a strong connection
to FOSS
and OO.o/Libo specifically, asking if he had an recommendations
on
possible writers.

I'm betting you can guess his first question.

To paraphrase - is it 100% or are we willing to compensate for
professional talent?

He also said that he could recommend folks that may do it gratis
but
that would be a much smaller pool of candidates.

So - the question is - what are the thoughts on using some
professional
talent?

Thanks

Drew

ps - I'll hold back on his name on the ML but certainly willing
to pass
it along via PM.

[libreoffice-projects] QA weekend at Linux Hotel

2011-06-20 Thread drew
Hi,

Noting that the FrODev.org sponsored LibreOffice QA weekend just wrapped
if there are plans to share with the rest of us what was discussed.

Yes I know it's only Monday, so I didn't expect anything at this point,
but I think it would be a good idea to set such a precedent for regional
gatherings such as this, that they do a quick debrief to the membership
overall.

Thanks and hope you guys had a great time,

Drew Jensen

I would rather like to see it kept as volunteer. I think we have (or
will eventually have) talent on our membership. Maybe a note from our
Brazilian colleagues could tell us if their magazine is produced with
100% volunteers?

Cheers

Hi.

Yes, it is. Because of two issues: 1 - We are not a legal company that
produces a magazine. We are a non formal organization. 2 - We have no
incomes, so we have no money to pay for that.

That doesn't mean that International Magazine couldn't do it. I think, once
TDF is legalized, maybe it could be done.

Jacqueline is currently collecting the notes that several people made.
Rainer agreed to post the summary then to the english lists (around
Thursday or so I'd guess).

The devs are informed and didn't express any concerns.

Maybe it's a good Idea to keep them informed, when we get first results.
