Freeport Indonesia yang menggelar aksi mogok kerja di Check Point 1 Mil 28
Timika belum kembali ke tempat kerja mereka di Tembagapura.

Wakil Kepala Kepolisian Daerah Papua, Brigjen Polisi Paulus Waterpauw di
Timika, Kamis (22/12), mengatakan, dengan telah ditandatanganinya kesepakatan
antara manajemen PT Freeport dengan pihak SPSI di Jakarta pada 12 Desember,
seharusnya karyawan Freeport yang mogok harus sudah kembali ke tempat kerja
mereka masing-masing.

Surat kesepakatan antara manajemen PT Freeport dengan pihak Serikat Pekerja
ditandatangani oleh Armando Mahler mewakili pihak manajemen dan Sudiro mewakili
karyawan bertempat di Kantor Pusat PT Freeport Indonesia, Plaza 89 Jakarta.

"Sampai saat ini karyawan masih bertahan melakukan pemogokkan di Check Point 1,
padahal sesungguhnya surat pernyataan kesepakatan sudah ditandatangani tanggal
12 Desember. Tampaknya ada sedikit kendala sehingga karyawan belum bisa kembali
bekerja," jelas Waterpauw.

Menyikapi adanya tarik-ulur tindak lanjut hasil kesepakatan yang dibuat di
Jakarta itu, pihak kepolisian mencoba melakukan komunikasi dengan dua belah
pihak yakni pihak manajemen PT Freeport dan pihak Serikat Pekerja.

"Sampai sore kemarin (Rabu) di mana SPSI menggelar rapat dengan karyawan di
Check Point 1 Mil 28 tampaknya belum ada satu ketegasan sikap, kapan mereka
sesungguhnya akan kembali bekerja," ujar Brigjen Paulus Waterpauw.

Alasan utama karyawan Freeport belum kembali ke lokasi kerja mereka, katanya,
yaitu karena belum ada jaminan untuk bekerja kembali bagi ribuan karyawan
perusahaan privatisasi dan kontraktor yang sudah dirumahkan dan di-PHK oleh
manajemen perusahaan.

Ribuan karyawan perusahaan privatisasi dan kontraktor itu seperti dari PT Kuala
Pelabuhan Indonesia (KPI), PT Pangansari Utama dan lainnya dirumahkan dan
dipecat gara-gara mereka juga ikut melakukan aksi mogok kerja bersama karyawan
PT Freeport.

Menurut Paulus Waterpauw, seharusnya kesepakatan yang dibuat di Jakarta yang
berisi enam atau tujuh point menjadi pedoman bagi seluruh karyawan yang
melakukan mogok kerja untuk kembali bekerja.

"Seharusnya hal-hal itu include (termasuk) di dalam kesepakatan yang dibuat di
Jakarta dan akan dijabarkan lebih lanjut dalam Surat Kesepakatan Bersama (SKB)
yang juga ditandatangani oleh pemerintah. SKB silahkan diproses, tetapi
karyawan harus kembali ke tempat kerja masing-masing. Jangan cari-cari alasan
untuk mengulur-ulur waktu," ujar mantan Kapolres Mimika 2003-2005 itu.

Terkait situasi itu, Brigjen Paulus Waterpauw meminta pihak manajemen PT
Freeport dan terutama pihak Serikat Pekerja untuk bersikap tegas, menaati surat
kesepakatan yang sudah ditandatangani di Jakarta pada 12 Desember.

"Tapi dari pembicaraan, kelihatan SPSI mau membicarakan terlebih dahulu soal
jaminan bagi karyawan privatisasi dan kontraktor untuk kembali bekerja. Kami
sudah memberikan toleransi kepada Serikat Pekerja," jelas Brigjen Paulus

hukum sejumlah pengurus Serikat Pekerja PT Freeport pimpinan Sudiro atas
berbagai kasus yang terjadi selama aksi mogok kerja ribuan karyawan sejak 15
September hingga saat ini.

Wakil Kepala Kepolisian Daerah Papua Brigjen Paulus Waterpauw di Timika, Kamis
(22/12), menegaskan Polres Mimika telah mengirim surat panggilan ke pengurus
SPSI Freeport untuk menghadap pada Sabtu (24/12) mendatang. Ia menambahkan
polisi juga akan membatasi aktivitas para pengurus SPSI Freeport dengan tidak
boleh meninggalkan Kota Timika dalam waktu dekat.

"Kemarin Polres sudah mengirim surat panggilan agar mereka menghadap hari
Sabtu," ujar Paulus.

Menurut dia, para pengurus SPSI Freeport harus bertanggung jawab terhadap semua
rangkaian-rangkaian dan langkah-langkah yang mereka lakukan selama
berlangsungnya aksi mogok ribuan karyawan Freeport.

Berbagai tindakan yang dilakukan tersebut, katanya, sudah sangat mengganggu
kepentingan umum dan memenuhi unsur-unsur perbuatan melawan hukum.

Selain itu, pengurus SPSI Freeport juga diduga melakukan tindak pidana
penghasutan dengan memengaruhi karyawan yang lain untuk mengulur-ulur waktu
untuk kembali ke tempat kerja meski surat pernyataan kesepakatan bersama
tentang kenaikan upah sebesar 40 persen sudah ditandatangani di Jakarta sejak
12 Desember.

"Apa yang mereka lakukan selama ini cukup kuat masuk sebagai tindak pidana.
Dampak dari aksi mogok kerja karyawan PT Freeport terlalu banyak, mulai dari
kasus pengrusakan, pencurian bahkan penembakan-penembakan," kata mantan
Kapolres Mimika periode 2003-2005 dan Direktur Reserse dan Kriminal Polda Papua
itu.

Paulus mengemukakan sejauh ini telah dipanggil 10 orang pengurus SPSI Freeport
sebagai saksi dan baru empat orang yang datang memenuhi panggilan penyidik
Polres Mimika.

"Semuanya akan kami periksa sebagai saksi. Dari situ bisa diketahui siapa yang
menyuruh, siapa yang mengatur semua rangkaian kegiatan ini, lalu siapa yang
patut disangkakan," jelasnya.

Ia menambahkan aksi mogok kerja karyawan Freeport terutama setelah pendudukan
Check Point 1 Mil 28 dan pemblokiran ruas jalan poros tambang di Mil 27 juga
sudah memenuhi unsur tindak pidana karena telah berubah dari mogok kerja,
menjadi unjuk rasa, bahkan demonstrasi. (Ant/OL-10)

and Magog occurs in the tribulation period, more specifically in the

attack will come when Israel is at peace (Ezekiel 38:8

Ezekiel is that of a nation that has security and has laid down its 
defenses. Israel is definitely not at peace now, and it is inconceivable 
that the nation would lay down its defenses apart from some major event. 
When Israel's covenant with the Beast/Antichrist is in effect at the 
beginning of Daniel's 70th Week (also known as the 7-year tribulation, 
Daniel 9:27a ), Israel will 
be at peace. Possibly the battle will occur just before the midpoint of 
the seven-year period. According to Ezekiel, Gog will be defeated by God 
Himself on the mountains of Israel. The slaughter will be so great it 
will take seven months to bury all of the dead (Ezekiel 39:11-12 
).

Gog and Magog are mentioned again in Revelation is found in 20:7-8. The 
duplicated use of the names Gog and Magog in Revelation 20:8-9 
 is to show that these 
people demonstrate the same rebellion against God and antagonism toward 
God as those in Ezekiel 38-39. It is similar to someone today calling a 
person "the devil" because he or she is sinful and evil. We know that 
person is not really Satan, but because that person shares similar 
characteristics, he or she might be referred to as "the devil."

The book of Revelation uses Ezekiel's prophecy about Magog to portray a 
final end-times attack on the nation of Israel (Revelation 20:8-9 
). The result of this 
battle is that all are destroyed, and Satan will find his final place in 
the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10 
).

It is important to recognize that the Gog and Magog of Ezekiel 38-39 is 
quite different from the one in Revelation 20:7-8

defense system in Europe, in close vicinity to Russia's borders, and because of
the unwillingness of the US side to provide any guarantees, the Russian
Federation continues to take measures to preserve parity in the field. In
particular, Russia's Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) will be renovated with the
help of state-of-the-art Topol-M and Yars complexes during the upcoming ten
years. In addition, Russia will pass into service a new intercontinental
missile of enormous power.

"The decision about the creation of the new silo-based missile system with a
liquid-fuel heavy missile has been made. The complex will have increased
possibilities in overcoming the prospective missile defense system of the
United States," Sergei Karakaev, the commander of the missile troops said.

The new missile, the mass of which is going to make up 100 tons, is said to
replace the world-known "Voevoda" ICBM. In the West, this missile is known as
"Satan." In the meantime, Russia has already started working to create the
middle-class newly equipped missile. The new missile is to be passed into
service in 2015, RIA Novosti reports.

"Russia does not stand against the US missile defense system. Russia stands
against the creation of the missile defense system, which would be directly
aimed against Russia to potentially reduce the possibilities of the Russian
nuclear containment forces," the official stated.

According to Karakaev, as long as there is a stable mechanism of nuclear
containment in the world, one should not undermine this mechanism to provoke an
arms race.

In November, President Dmitry Medvedev announced a complex of measures, which
Russia would use to respond to the deployment of the missile defense system in
Europe. In particular, Medvedev did not rule out a possibility to refuse from
the policy of disarmament. Russia could also revise the previous agreements
about arms control, he added.

For the time being, there is no direct threat to Russia, the head of the
missile troops stated. However, the Strategic Missile Forces will be prepared
to respond fast, if necessary, the general added.

"Technically, there are no restrictions in the opportunity to apply the SMF
missiles. It takes little time to pick an object of destruction and put this
object into the flight assignment of an ICBM. For the time being, the combat
groups of the SMF are on duty with a zero flight assignment, which means that
the missiles are not targeted against anything," Interfax quoted the official
as saying.

Russia's new Yars, Topol-M and Bulava ICBMs are unvulnerable to the US missile
defense system. The commander of the Russian SFM said that it was best for the
enemy to destroy the missile during the initial part of its flight, when it
gathers speed. The missile separates later, which makes it harder for
interceptors to detect the missile in a whole cloud of fake targets.

Russia's state-of-the-art ballistic missiles have the shortest boost phase of
the flight - this phase is much shorter than it was with older missiles. "At
this short part of the flight the missiles perform active maneuvers, which
makes it impossible for interceptors to plan the attack.

"We conducted the tests to evaluate and confirm the nuclear safety of Topol
warheads. The results of the tests showed that even in case of most complicated
breakdowns, fires or explosions, the nuclear explosion of the warhead is
excluded," Karakaev said.

Russia's present-day SMF consist of more than 350 missile complexes of six
types. Three of them are silo-based and three others are mobile ground-based
complexes. It is worthy of note that the Russian system of nuclear containment
forces consists of the Strategic Missile Forces, strategic nuclear submarines
and strategic bombers.

By the beginning of 2012, there will be 86 launch systems with Topol-M and Yars
systems in the structure of the combat group of the SMF. The share of
state-of-the-art arms in the SMF will thus grow up to 25 percent.

In 2012, Russia will begin the process to pass Yars missile complexes into
service. The range of the system is up to 11,000 kilometers. It has a
separating warhead with maneuverable and individually guided blocks. The system
is highly maneuverable. In 2012, Russia will also complete the introduction of
Topol-M missiles, the operational resource of which makes up not less than 20
years.

The life of operating missile complexes with RS-20B Voevoda, RS-18 Stilet and
RS-12M Topol mobile missile complex will be prolonged. These systems still make
the base of the Strategic Missile Forces.

BAGHDAD: Iraq's Shiite prime minister told Kurdish authorities yesterday to 
hand over the Sunni vice president, who fled to the semiautonomous region to 
escape an arrest warrant on charges he ran hit squads targeting government 
officials. The charges, leveled a day after the last American troops left Iraq, 
have opened up a new round of the Shiite-Sunni sectarian tensions that pushed 
the country to the brink of civil war just a few years ago.

Tariq Al-Hashemi, the country's highest-ranking Sunni political figure, said 
Monday the allegations by his longtime rival, Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki, 
are fabricated and politically motivated. He accused Al-Maliki of concentrating 
power in his hands and torpedoing national reconciliation between Sunnis and 
Shiites. "I do not allow myself and others to bargain over Iraqi blood," 
Al-Maliki said in his first public comments on the warrant. He said Iraq is a 
unified county, and the Kurdish authorities sho
uld hand over Al-Hashemi to the Iraqi justice system. "If they will not hand 
him over or let him flee or escape, this will lead to problems," the premier 
said.

There has been speculation that Al-Hashemi may try to flee the country to 
Turkey, which shares a border with the northern Kurdish region. The Sunni 
minority dominated Iraq under Saddam Hussein until he was ousted by the US -led 
invasion in 2003. The Shiites have held power ever since, and many Sunnis feel 
the Shiite-led government is determined to keep the them from ever regaining 
positions of power.

The charges raised suspicions that Al-Maliki ordered the arrest of Al-Hashemi 
as part of a campaign to consolidate his hold on power out of fear that Sunnis 
inside and outside of Iraq are plotting against him. The conflict has sharpened 
the divisions in what is shaping up to be one of the most serious political 
confrontations in Iraq in years. Al-Hashemi denied charges he paid his 
bodyguards to kill government officials during the heyday of Iraq's Sunni 
insurgency. Most of the accusations date back to the
height of the internal war in 2006 and 2007, when neighbors turned on neighbors 
and whole sections of Baghdad were expunged of one Muslim sect or the other. 
Al-Hashemi fled to the Kurdish region on Sunday, before the arrest warrant was 
announced and before purported confessions from his bodyguards aired on Iraqi 
television Monday evening. On Sunday he was barred from leaving the country.

Al-Maliki effectively runs the Interior Ministry, where the charges originated. 
Al-Hashemi's Sunni-backed party, Iraqiya, which shares power in al-Maliki's 
government, has repeatedly accused the prime minister of hoarding power and 
last weekend boycotted parliament because al-Maliki refused to give up control 
over key posts such as the defense and interior ministries. The prime minister 
has not appointed permanent ministers of defense or interior since he came to 
office a year ago.

Al-Hashemi has taken refuge in the Kurdish region, which is part of Iraq but 
has its own security forces. The Iraqi army and national police do not operate 
there. As long as the Kurdish officials allow him to stay there, he is 
effectively immune from prosecution in Baghdad. The Kurds, who have been trying 
to work out a solution to the crisis, are also wary of al-Maliki's perceived 
authoritarian streak. But they have also clashed with Sunni politicians from 
Iraqiya over the future of disputed areas in northern Iraq claimed by both 
Baghdad and the Kurds.

The charges have thrown Iraq into crisis just days after the last US troops 
left the country and ended a nearly nine-year war. Vice President Joe Biden 
called both Al-Maliki and Osama Al-Nujaifi, the speaker of the Iraqi Council of 
Representatives, late Tuesday. He stressed to Al-Maliki the "urgent need" for 
him to meet with leaders of other political blocs to help resolve the crisis.

Al-Maliki is also pushing for a vote of no confidence against the Sunni Deputy 
Prime Minister, Saleh Al-Mutlaq, also a member of Iraqiya. Al-Hashemi addressed 
the charges against him at a news conference in the northern city of Irbil on 
Tuesday. He said the case was "fabricated" to embarrass him and Iraqiya. When 
asked whether Al-Hashemi could get a fair trial in Iraq considering that the 
confessions have already aired on television, Al-Maliki defended the treatment 
of the vice president.

We gave the dictator Saddam a fair trial, and we will guarantee a fair trial 
for Al-Hashemi," he said. Al-Maliki also threatened to appoint new cabinet 
ministers if the ministers from Iraqiya do not attend Cabinet sessions.

JERUSALEM: A spokesman for Egypt's main Salafist party yesterday pledged that 
the hardline Islamist group would respect the peace treaty with Israel in an 
unprecedented interview with an Israeli radio station. "We are not against the 
(1979 peace) agreement but we say that Egypt is committed to the agreements 
signed by the previous governments," Al-Nur spokesman Yusri Hammad said in a 
telephone interview with Israel's army radio, in which he spoke in Arabic.

If there are some clauses that the people of Egypt want to change in the 
agreements, then these belong on the negotiating table," he said. "We respect 
all treaties." Al-Nur is the main party of the Salafists, whose members follow 
a strict form of Islam dominant in Saudi Arabia. The hardline faction was

Hammad said the Salafists image had been "distorted" by the media and by other

prompted surprise in Israel that a member of the Egyptian Salafist movement 
would grant an interview to an Israeli media outlet, particularly one 
associated with the military. "We were surprised by this interview," a senior

Hammad's remarks were made as Egyptians turned out to vote in the run-off of a

Selangor conservative leads a revolt against modernizers

Strains are building in Malaysia’s Parti Islam se-Malaysia, the formerly 
conservative Islamic wing of Pakatan Rakyat, the three-party opposition 
coalition headed by the embattled Anwar Ibrahim, over the party’s 
fundamentalist roots. 

The growing split could have ominous implications for the coalition’s ability 
to take on the Barisan Nasional, or ruling national coalition, in elections 
thought to be scheduled as early as March. 

Anwar himself has been distracted by a year-long court drama in which he has 
been accused by a former aide of sexual perversion. The prosecution and defense 
staged their final arguments last week and the case is now scheduled to be 
decided by High Court Judge Mohamad Zabidin Mohamad Diah sometime in the next 
weeks. The trial has remained a major preoccupation for Anwar, taking time and 
focus away from his efforts to keep a fractious coalition together. 

An UMNO source – with obvious relish – told Asia Sentinel that PAS is 
“imploding.” However, other sources say that while the squabble is troublesome, 
party commitment to the more moderate line remains intact. 

“It's a bit premature to say PAS is imploding,” said a source with connections 
to both UMNO and PKR. “The mainstream media of course are highlighting the 
differences in PAS but within PAS itself, they seem to be okay.” 

The controversy began in June when rank and file members staged a dramatic 
revolution at the party’s annual congress, electing secular leaders and 
abandoning the rural-based party’s traditional call to convert the country into 
an Islamic state. 

The largest party in Anwar’s coalition, PAS had long turned off urban Malays 
and other ethnic minorities, particularly the Chinese, with its demands for 
observance of strict conservative Islamic laws. Given the size of its 
membership and its potential to take votes away from the United Malays National 
Organization, the country’s biggest political party, PAS unity and support are 
crucial to the opposition coalition. 

At the party congress, newer, urban followers of PAS, having fled both the 
racial stridency and endemic corruption of UMNO and the disorganization of 
Anwar’s PKR, in June elected a slate of officers headed by Mohamad Sabu, a 
galvanic public speaker from Penang and former member of Anwar’s Parti Keadilan 
who was twice detained under the country's Internal Security Act. 

Sabu led the moderates' charge, winning the party deputy presidency and 
crucially defeating a minority of conservatives seeking to lead a splinter 
group to link up with UMNO. Salahuddin Ayub, Husam Musa and Mahfuz Omar, 
elected as moderate vice presidents, completed a leadership team reflecting the 
party's changing membership and leaving the Islamists out in the cold. 

The strains have been there ever since. However, the controversy broke into the 
open earlier this month, with Kuala Lumpur’s pro-government mainstream media 
playing up comments by Hasan Ali, a member of the Selangor PAS executive 
committee saying he and his allies would seek to “bring the party back to the 
Islamic path, and claiming support particularly from Nasharudin Mat Isa, a 
former PAS deputy president who was supplanted by the new moderate team. 

Later this week, Harun Taib, the head of the PAS Dewan Ulama, or council of 
religious leaders, announced it would support the two dissidents, who were 
called “fake members” by the party’s new mainstream leaders. Harun in turn, 
without naming names, called the Sabu faction “new immigrants who appeared to 
have no qualms deviating from the party's core principles.” 

Both Hasan Ali and Nasharudin have been causing tension in the party virtually 
since the coalition took over the leadership of the state of Selangor in 2008 
elections that shocked the Barisan Nasional. From his spot on the executive 
committee, Hasan sought to ban beer in the urban, relatively liberal state. He 
has also taken adamant positions against Christians. Both he and Nasharuddin 
paid for their conservatism during the June elections that brought Mat Sabu and 
his allies to power. 

“Hasan Ali and Nasharuddin, who are at the centre of controversy and attacking 
their own party, lost badly in party elections last year, which means they have 
no support in their own party,” a Malay businessman told Asia Sentinel. “In 
fact, Hassan's actions against Christians and his banning of sale of beer in 
7-11s in Selangor have been more damaging to the opposition than anything Umno 
has done. If I were the opposition, I would be happy to see their backs. “

Tapi hasilnya tetap saja sama: rezameutia tetap saja cuma bisa memakai

dihukum 5 tahun penjara dengan membayar denda Rp 500,—juta.Lumayang masih ada 
kelebihan uang Rp. 46,2 miliar yang kalau ditaruh bank dan hanya dipetik 
bungganya sudah mempunyai pendapatan besar tanpa memanting tulang meneras 
keringat. Istirahat, guling-guling di hotel prodeo selama 5 tahun tidak lama 
waktunya. Siapa tahu kalau dibebaskan sebelum masa penjara berakir, akan sangat 
bagus sekali untuk bisa menikmati panen korupsi seperti Wafid Muharam.

NKRI, yaitu jangan chawatir kalau korupsi besar-besaran, sebab diistirahatkan

berfoya-foya seenaknya, tak perlu isteri dan anak-anak akan kelaparan. Jadi

A former president of state power company Perusahaan Listrik Negara was 
sentenced on Wednesday to five years in prison for graft, even though the court 
was split on whether the defendant had ever received any illicit money. 

While the Anti-Corruption Court in Jakarta was divided on the question of if 
Eddie Widiono had personally profited, it agreed that he had cost the state 
billions of rupiah by illegally awarding a contract to Netway Utama, an 
industrial supply company. 

“The defendant has been legally and convincingly proven to having engaged in 
corruption with others,” said Cokorda Rai Suwamba, who headed the panel of 
judges. 

The contract in question was for the development of a customer information 
system for PLN’s Jakarta-Tangerang region. 

Eddie was also fined Rp 500 million ($55,000) by the court. 

Cokorda said Eddie had approved the project in “an unprofessional manner.” 

He added, however, that the defendant had not been proven to have received any 
of the illicit money himself. 

The cash in question included Rp 850 million in traveler’s checks, according to 
the prosecutors’ charges. 

“The panel of judges is of a different opinion than the prosecutors, who said 
that the defendant received Rp 2 billion from [industrial supplier] Netway 
Utama,” said Hugo, another member of the panel of judges. 

He said the prosecutors had been unable to prove their charge that the 
defendant had received traveler’s checks. 

What Eddie did wrong, Cokorda said, was appoint Netway as a contractor for the 
information database project without going through a proper tender. 

That illegal action, Cokorda said, cost the state Rp 46 billion because 
Netway’s bill for its work on the project was inflated by almost 100 percent. 

Eddie awarded Netway a contract for Rp 92.7 billion, but the real cost of the 
project was only Rp 46 billion, prosecutors said in their indictment. 

Anwar, another member of the panel of judges, said it had been proven that 
Eddie had illegally enriched Netway, making him guilty of corruption. 

Witnesses had testified that Eddie insisted on going ahead with the project 
despite misgivings from the PLN board. 

They also told the court that he had ordered the general manager of the 
Jakarta-Tangerang region at the time, Margo Santoso, to proceed with appointing 
Netway. 

After the verdict was announced, Eddie said he was disappointed with the ruling 
but thankful that the court had not found him guilty of enjoying any money from 
the scheme. 

“What is clear is that I feel really hurt by being said to be unprofessional,” 
he said. “This really hurts my track record.” 

The prosecution had been seeking a seven-year jail sentence for the defendant. 
Eddie and his lawyers said they would study the ruling before deciding whether 
to appeal. 

PLN has been rocked by several graft scandals that have seen convictions for 
other executives and private businesspeople. 

A similar customer information system was pushed for PLN’s East Java and 
Lampung branches, and also resulted in corruption charges. 

Hariyadi Sadono, the company’s former general manager for East Java, was 
sentenced in March to six years in prison. 

A verdict in the trial of Budi Harsono, the company’s former general manager 
for Lampung, has yet to be announced.

Selain membuat buku dan kajian tentang ekonomi Indonesia, Professor Arndt juga 
mendorong sejumlah mahasiswa pascasarjana Australia dan Selandia Baru untuk 
menulis disertasi tentang berbagai aspek dan masalah ekonomi Indonesia.


Beberapa di antara mereka kemudian muncul sebagai pakar yang terkemuka di dunia 
tentang ekonomi Indonesia, yaitu Prof Anne Booth, yang bersama Dr Peter 
McCawley pada 1981 menerbitkan buku pertama tentang ekonomi Indonesia selama 
era Soeharto, The Indonesian Economy During the Soeharto Era (Oxford University 
Press, 1981).

Prof Booth kemudian menyunting buku The Oil Boom and After –Indonesian Economic 
Policy and Performance in the Soeharto Era (Oxford University Press, 1992).

Sebagai ekonom yang juga mendalami sejarah ekonomi Indonesia, Booth pada 1998 
menerbitkan buku The Indonesian Economy During the Nineteenth and Twentieth 
Centuries – A History of Missed Opportunities (Macmillan Press, 1998).

Empat mantan mahasiswa pascasarjana Arndt lainnya yang mumpuni adalah Prof

Indonesia bersama Prof Xin Meng (Edward Elgar, 2010), dan Employment, Living 
Standards, and Poverty in Contremporary Indonesia, bersama Dr Sudarno Sumarto.

Akhirnya, Dr Peter McCawley bersama dengan Prof Sisira Jayasuriya menulis buku 
The Asian Tsunami – Aid and Reconstruction After a Disaster (Edward Elgar, 
2010) yang banyak membahas respons terhadap tsunami yang dialami Indonesia pada 
akhir Desember 2004.

Indonesia Mengepalai Proyek
Ada suatu perkembangan menarik terkait Proyek Indonesia ANU karena dua 
sokoguru, yaitu Chris Manning, mantan Kepala Proyek Indonesia ANU dan Associate 
Professor Ross McLeod, pada akhir 2011 akan pensiun.
Sebagai pengganti kepala proyek Indonesia yang baru ditunjuklah Associate 
Professor Budy Resosudarmo, dan pada pertengahan 2012 akan diperkuat Dr Arianto 
Patunru, keduanya dari FE UI. Diyakini suasana akademik yang kondusif di ANU 
akan merangsang mereka menghasilkan karya ilmiah yang mumpuni dan bermanfaat 
untuk Indonesia.

Selain itu, perkembangan mutakhir lain yang menarik adalah munculnya perhatian 
yang lebih besar pada kajian tentang sejarah ekonomi Indonesia modern di 
Indonesia maupun di Belanda dan Australia.
Mungkin karya pertama yang menggunakan analisis ekonomi secara eksplisit dalam 
kajian sejarah ekonomi Indonesia adalah Thee Kian Wie yang telah menulis 
disertasi di University of Wisconsin, Madison, tentang Plantation Agriculture 
and Export Growth: An economic history of Indonesia, 1863 – 1942. Atas anjuran 
Prof Taufik Abdullah, Direktur LEKNAS-LIPI selama 1974 -1978, disertasi ini 
kemudian diterbitkan LEKNAS-LIPI dan LP3ES pada 1977.

Pada 1998 Anne Booth dari Departemen Ekonomi, School of Oriental and African 
Studies (SOAS, University of London) menerbitkan buku yang cukup provokatif, 
The Indonesian Economy in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries – A History of 
Missed Opportunities (Macmillan, 1998).

Membangun Minat
Minat mahasiswa pascasarjana Indonesia pada kajian sejarah ekonomi Indonesia 
berawal sewaktu Dr J Thomas Lindblad (Universitas Leiden) dan Prof Bambang 
Purwanto (Jurusan Sejarah, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Gadjah Mada/UGM) 
menyelenggarakan Summer Course on Indonesian Economic History di UGM, 
Yogyakarta, pada pertengahan 1995, 1996, dan 1997.

Setelah Summer Course itu beberapa lulusan terbaik menempuh studi pascarsarjana 
di sejumlah universitas. Dr Sri Margana dan Dr Singgih Tri Sulistiyono ke 
Universitas Leiden, Dr Nasution ke Universitas Nagoya, dan Dr Wasino ke UGM. 
Kini mereka menjadi guru besar bidang sejarah ekonomi Indonesia di universitas 
masing-masing.

Pada 2002 Prof Howard Dick, Prof Vincent Houben, Dr J Thomas Lindblad, dan Dr 
Thee Kian Wie menerbitkan buku kedua (setelah buku Booth di atas) tentang 
sejarah ekonomi Indonesia yang berjudul The Emergence of a National Economy –

CAIRO: Thousands of angry Egyptian women joined a fifth day of protests in
Cairo to voice outrage over what they said was the military's abuse and
mistreatment of female demonstrators.

''Egyptian girls are a red line,'' they chanted during a peaceful march from
Tahrir Square through the centre of the Egyptian capital on Tuesday, while male
protesters formed a protective line around them. ''Down with the military
rule!''

Some carried posters and pictures of women they said were beaten, stripped and
assaulted in recent days, including one woman who was captured on video as
military police stripped some of her clothing to expose her bra, and then
appeared to stamp on her.

The footage has been circulated, fueling a growing public anger toward the
Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which has been ruling the country since
the overthrow in February of the president Hosni Mubarak.

''That girl who was stripped by army officers didn't just reveal her body, but
she revealed the brutality and atrocities carried out by the army,'' one female
protester, who did not want to be identified, said.

''We don't trust them any more. They should cede power immediately.''

Sensing the public frustration, the military council quickly issued an apology
and vowed to punish those who mistreated women. The statement expressed ''deep
regret to the great women of Egypt'' and reaffirmed their right to protest and
take part in the democratic transition.

The military's expression of regret was a stark reversal to recent denials that
soldiers had used excessive force against demonstrators.

On Monday, General Adel Emara, a member of the military council, blamed the
violence on protesters, whom the army has tried to paint as criminals.

At least 13 protesters have died in clashes since Friday and 800 people have
been injured, some from gunfire.

The US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, said: ''Women protesters have been
rounded up and subjected to horrific abuse. This systematic degradation of
Egyptian women dishonours the revolution, disgraces the state and its uniform,
and is not worthy of a great people.''

Saya tambahkan: ternyata keadaan rezameutia itu lebih gawat dari yang saya
sangka semula: dia juga menderita premature ejaculation.

Jadi nggak heran hidupnya begitu sengsara.




Orang tua rezameutia yang dungu kayak anjing, seperti juga orang tua
peserta
mailing list ini yang beragama Islam kayak Dipo, johny-indon,
ndeboost, PAREWA
PAREWA, Roman Proteus, Tawang dll. tidak sanggup memberikan pendidikan
yang
memadai kepada anaknya yang tentu saja jadi dungu kayak anjing seperti
orang
tuanya dan berpengetahuan dangkal kayak comberan dimusim kemarau di
Jakarta.

Bayangin, begitu cetek pengetahuan rezameutia itu hingga Afrika
Selatan
dikatakannya negeri bule, bahasa Inggerisnya juga acak-acakan hingga
dia tidak
tahu apa arti kata legendary.

Kesanggupannnya juga terutama terbatas ngomong tentang sepak bola dan
musik dan,
menurut Suryana tukang jilat pantat orang Islam, ngedongeng..

Disamping itu orang tua rezameutia yang memang dungu kayak anjing itu
juga
membiarkan anaknya yang memang suka mikir pake kontol itu menjadikan
buku taik
anjing al-Mushaf susunan orang Arab primitif sebagai kitab suci.

rezameutia juga tidak dilatih oleh orang tuanya yang memang
dungu-dungu kayak
anjing itu memakai otaknya buat berfikir, dia tidak dilatih untuk
berfikir
kritis.

Dia tidak dilatih untuk mempertanyakan apa yang dikatakan orang
sekelilingnya.

Dia dilatih buat biasa bersikap seperti anjing budug lapar dihadapan
taik angat:
diajar untuk melahap apa yang dikatakan orang sekelilingnya dan kayak
bebek, dia
suka ikut apa yang dilakukan orang lain, tanpa mikir, seperti naik
haji sembari
muter-muter kayak orang gila disekeliling Kaabah dan nyambit setan
yang nggak
ada di padang pasir sono.

Di abad ke XXI ini, berkat kemajuan teknologi, rezameutia juga punya
akses ke
internet dan sempat
melihat
kenyataan lain yang pahit lagi menyilaukan yang ditunjukkan orang lain
di
internet: ajaran agama Islam yang dianutnya dan yang dikiranya
berdasarkan
kebenaran dan berdasarkan wahyu dari Allah itu ternyata cuman
berdasarkan
omong
kosong dan kibulan hasil khayalan orang Arab primitif.

Karena dia tidak dilatih untuk memakai otaknya untuk berfikir dan
untuk
mempertanyakan apa yang dia yakini selama ini maka dia bingung
dihadapan
kenyataan itu: groggy.

Dia jadi gila.

Gila dan lantas kalap.

Lalu dia jadi tukang fitnah dan penyebar dusta.

Karena saya bercerita bahwa saya pernah mengisap ganja satu kali, maka
saya
difitnhnya junkie.

Dan karena saya menurutkan nasehat berbagai lembaga kesehatan di Eropa
yang
menganjurkan orang untuk mengikuti diet mediteranian yang antara lain
terdiri
dari dua atautiga gelas anggur tiap hari maka saya difitnahnya
alkoholik.

Berbeda dengan orang Islam lain yang juga sudah pada jadi gila,
rezameutia
memang bersedia menjalani terapi.

Tapi hasilnya tetap saja sama: rezameutia tetap saja cuma bisa memakai
kontolnya
buat berfikir dan buah fikirannnya, tidak mengherankan, tetap saja
terutam
najis seperti fitnah dan dusta.

Barangkali memang klenik, dalam arti sesuatu yang ditanam baik-baik 
sehingga tumbuh dan berbuah sebagai realita. Seolah-olah alamiah :) 

Seperti misalnya cerita tentang Gog & Magog itu. Tentang serangan 
dari utara yang dipercaya sebagian orang "terealisir" dalam berbagai 
bentuk, al. penjajahan serdadu dari utara (Romawi) atas bangsa Yahudi 
di jaman kelahiran Yesus. 

Lalu, ada juga yang percaya Gog & Magog itu "terealisir" dalam 
serangan si Richard (Inggris, utara) terhadap Saladin di era salib-
menyalib. Ada juga yang percaya itu terealisir lagi dalam serbuan 
Yahudi Eropa kiriman Inggris (utara) di akhir PD II.

Nah, ini satu lagi bukti si bleki butuh banyak waktu buat 
ngunyah omongannya sendiri. Kali ini omongannya soal 'akan'. 
Kita syukuri bleki (akhirnya) ngarti juga omongannya bahwa 
'akan' itu berarti belum terjadi. 

Tapi tetep aja, mulai sekarang bisa kita pastiin si bleki 
bukan sembarang tukang ngayal tapi memang paranoid berat 
karena 'telah' terlanjur kalangkabut untuk sesuatu yang dia 
susun sendiri di antara dua kupingnya. 

Lagipula sejak kapan 'lempar' diartikan dengan 'motong'?

Jadi, selain homo alamiah (kata uplik) si bleki itu memang
