An audio track that won't record revisited

2014-09-13 Thread Krister Ekstrom
Hi folks.
Audio track problem solved. The solution was very simple indeed. In order to
hear the recorded material from the track, you have to unarm it otherwise
you’ll hear your input instead. Shaking my head, calling myself unprintable
names, oh well, this has to be a case of learning as you go.:-)

Re: Any accessible Preamp plugins?

2014-09-13 Thread Christopher Gilland
I never could get that to work. I dono why. I select the track/tracks I
want to apply clip gain on, select the audio, then do ctrl+shift+up and down
arrows. Maybe I need to go listen to Matt's tutorial again on how to do it.
A friend of mine told me how to do this, but he may a been remembering
wrong.

BTW, you can still just use a compressor and set the ratio to 1:1 and
use

the make-up gain for the boost.

Re: An audio track that won't record revisited

2014-09-13 Thread Slau Halatyn
Krister,

Toggling the input mode between Auto Input and Input only monitoring with
Option-k will allow you to monitor recorded material even if the track is
record enabled. I described this in a previous response. You might've missed it.

Best,

Re: Any accessible Preamp plugins?

2014-09-13 Thread Slau Halatyn
Pro Tools certainly has a Gain plug-in but it's meant for file-based operations
within Audio suite. A real-time gain plug-in is sort of moot because one would
normally just attain the proper levels between preamp and interface and faders
do the rest. Oh, and there's always the master volume on the monitor speakers ;)
