Re: Protools subscription question

2015-12-27 Thread Slau Halatyn
Some folks choose not to do the subscription model and it's separate from the
copy protection which is the iLok part of the equation. In other words, the two
are separate things. You need the iLok no matter what. The subscription model
gets you tech support, any upgrades and a discounted price the following year
for the annual support plan.

Re: Shortcuts

2015-12-27 Thread Slau Halatyn
A curated list of shortcuts is a great idea since not all shortcuts will apply
to blind users. In addition, the Windows shortcut equivalents are redundant.
I'll try to edit together a document to reflect the most useful shortcuts.

Re: Cleaning up midi files

The MIDI Event List is where you'll find those things. Option-equals brings up
the window. Nobody has done a recent tutorial on the way the MIDI Event List
works. I'm in North Carolina right now and won't be back in NYC for a few days.
At some point, I'll try to give an overview unless somebody chimes in ahead of

Re: Protools subscription question

2015-12-27 Thread Shawn Brock
Hello, yes, my MacBook Pro only has two USB ports, that is what makes the
additional two USB ports only Apple keyboard a blessing. I keep my iLock
plugged into the keyboard.

As for the subscription, I had good luck purchasing through Sweetwater. The
iLock is included in the subscription price. Or at least it was when I
purchased from them.
