All is well here massage business is great, studio is coming along getting a
little business there, and my band gigs are picking up. I barely have time to
take a bath and do other things necessary. I am working out a lot even getting
back on the tandem bike. Got to get this kid in college.

Hello, thanks for those replies, I will still give this some consideration. The
reason I am asking is: because when I first got this unit, it already had El
Capitan on it. So, I created a boot up desk and rolled it back to Yosemite. It
appears ever since I rolled it back to Yosemite, I know longer can get on
YouTube to watch videos and helping me learn ProTools. But I know for a fact
that it was working with El Capitan. So, I was thinking about putting El
Capitan back on the system.

2016-03-19 Thread TheOreoMonster
If you are gonna take the time to reinstall do a clean install of el cap
instead of going back to yosemite. I had upgraded to the the last few OS
versions and had some annoying little hang ups with El Cap but i felt the VO
improvements were worth trying a clean instal and so far so good. So once again
i say like these do clean installs over upgrades.

alias is apples (argueably more powerful version) of what are
shortcuts on windows. So whether you copy the file into the
applications alias found in the DMG or the actual application folder
on your mac it ends up in the same place, that being your applications
folder. Where it says drag you can copy and paste. When you open the
pro tools app make sure you are opening pro tools dot app and not avid
pro tools dot app which is what i think V10 and prior showed up as in
the applications folder. you can see which version of pro tools you
are about to open by pressing cmd+I on the dot app file to get info or
what is essentially view properties in windows.

Hi
In my opinion no, just stay where you are, on Yosemite. I can't give you
spesific reasons or examples, but over all Yosemite just felt much more smooth
and solid than El Capitan.
Not that updating will break or hectically change something in terms of PT, but
if it was my choice, I'd stay put on 10.10.
If it wasn't such a mission reinstalling everything and if i had the time, i
would have been back on Yosemite long time ago.

I wouldn’t worry about it if you don’t torrent and don’t participate in other

2016-03-19 Thread Ricky Prevatte
All is well here massage business is great, studio is coming along getting a
little business there, and my band gigs are picking up. I barely have time to
take a bath and do other things necessary. I am working out a lot even getting
back on the tandem bike. Got to get this kid in college.

i think v11 was when they switched to .app file and you didn't have
to run an installer anymore. could be remembering wrong but if you
open the DMG and its just a .app file copy it to your applications
folder and launch it and see what happens.

Thanks. They have a compatibility chart up

Hi Gordon,

There were around 50 improvements in version 12.2. Since you were last using
11, I'd imagine the whole subscription thing passed you by. Your copy of 11
will still work but you'll need to go for either a subscription model or
purchase a perpetual license. It works out cheaper to get the subscription and
you'll probably get some extra plug-ins to boot. I suppose your best bet is to
