Re: Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol
Hey Darwin, As you heard on the Roger group any of the S Kontrollers work with your motif XF. You can use a 25 and still have all the same accessibility that the bigger controllers would offer you. As long as the motif is connected alongside the S Kontroller, you will have access to both and be able to play on either keyboard. yeah. i’m not really sure here. but i think it’s something maybe to do with the insertion cursor. as even when i hit the down arrow then stop the transport it just continues on playing from where i stopped it. it does not go back to when i hit the down arrow. Re: trouble making a selection
Hi again Steve, Remember that the track has to be visible, and toggle with the track selection in the track list. There are situations where I first am unable to select anything even though a track is selected, but if I de-select the track, and then select the actual track you’d like to work with, selection will work again. No clue why this is the case… If you select a hidden track, and then make it visible, strange things may also happen. So I tend to first unhide, then select the track. then I’ll do my selection. Hi again John and List. i’ve made sure the selector tool is on. it was unchecked, but i still can’t do any thing with the up and down arrows. so i can’t drop an insertion cursor, or make a selection. in the options menu i have track in edit selection, and time at edit selection checked. Any other thoughts would be great as i can’t use protools this way at the moment. Thanks Steve, yes, I started with piano and keyboards when I was a kid, later with guitars, acoustic drums and bass. trouble making a selection
Hi guys. well i’ve come up with an issue this morning. i can’t seem to make any selection in p t at all. also when i drop the insertion cursor nothing happens, it does not seem to be working. it was working last night, but not now. I went in to the options dialogue, and made sure track in edit selection is checked, also time line at edit selection is checked. I’ve unchecked and rechecked both these options to no avail. What else do I need to look at. This happening across all sessions in p t. quick nav is off, and i’ve turned voice over off and on. still nothing happening when i drop the insertion or try to make a selection. I’m in a bit of a bind, as i can’t do anything today till i resolve this. Thanks in advance for your help. Re: Jog/sutle between tracks.
Hi JP, Currently, it’s not possible to import clips into one audio track. A sighted user might import clips into the Clips List and then later select the clips and drag them to one audio track and specify a drop order. Now that El Capitan supports an alternate VoiceOver key like Caps Lock, it might become feasible to drag and drop files onto an audio track with a modified drag, etc. Still, something like Keyboard Maestro is necessary to reliably move the mouse pointer to a spot somewhere in the timeline. I haven’t yet experimented with that under El Capitan and I don’t foresee myself upgrading the studio computer to El Capitan but I might be able to try it on the laptop to see how well it might work. For now, files should be imported to new tracks and then cut and pasted into whichever tracks they need to be on. You should be aware that it’s only possible to monitor a maximum of two audio tracks during shuttle or scrub mode. That’s why you’re not hearing the second clip because it resides on a different track. Re: Control surface/audio interface recommendations
Not a lot available if you want control surface and interface in one. The 003 if you can find one though they are nearing end of life as well. However as a point this doesn't neccessarily mean they will stop working As a lot of Avid's hardware have a 5 or so year lifespan at least once avid stops official support. Icon audio has an interface and controller package you can put together to emulate a single unit as well. Not sure of anything else in the 8 fader game though. There is the Behringer x32 series if you want more than 8 faders and my personal favorite is still the Allen & Heath ZED R16 though it lacks motorized faders. However it does have soft takeover built in to compensate. The Avid Artist series i believe are just control surfaces and not interfaces as well. Given the lack of options an Avid artist series and a seperate interface may be the way to go. Re: Jog/sutle between tracks.
That’s correct Slau. each clip are in separate tracks. I selected one of this, Cuted and pasted it after the other one in the timeline. I use an artist transport so There is a nice sorcut to select one track at a time. How can import multiple audio clips to one track? Thank you, JP. > On Jul 21, 2016, at 12:38, Slau Halatynwrote: > > Hi JP, > > When you say you’ve imported audio files to tracks, do you mean that, after > importing to new tracks, you then cut and pasted them into one audio track? > If you’re shuttling through a track that has a clip in it, you’ll be able to > hear it but, if the second clip resides in another track, you won’t hear it > in shuttle mode or scrub mode. Control surface/audio interface recommendations
Hi All, What would you recommend as the best current option for a control surface with 8 main faders, including a good audio interface? I'm looking for something that is similar to the old Digi 002. I asked this question a few days back with no replies, because I needed to check that it's not possible to use the Digi with PT12. Otherwise, a second hand one would be a good way to go, but I don't think there are 64-bit drivers for it, so, again, what's the current best option? I've heard good things about the Avid Artist range, but is this the same kind of animal, and which one would you advise? Re: Jog/sutle between tracks.
Hi JP, When you say you’ve imported audio files to tracks, do you mean that, after importing to new tracks, you then cut and pasted them into one audio track? If you’re shuttling through a track that has a clip in it, you’ll be able to hear it but, if the second clip resides in another track, you won’t hear it in shuttle mode or scrub mode. Rewind and Fast Forward works differently and all tracks are heard in bits and pieces while moving in rewind or fast forward. I would double-check to make sure that the second clip is actually on the very same audio track as the first clip. If you need them to be on separate tracks, you’ll need to select the second track to be able to monitor the clip in shuttle mode. You can use Control-semicolon and Control-p to select the next lower track or upper track respectively. Hope that helps, Slau > On Jul 20, 2016, at 8:51 PM, Juan Pablo Culasso Alonso> wrote: > > All; > > I imported files to tracks.
