Is there not an auto play selection option so you can audio stuff automatically
while downarrowing through the list. If not maybe we should get this on the
idea scale for avid to consider adding as it wouldimproove everyones workflow
and isn’t just blindness related. If this is the case this seems like another
one of those features “every other daw but pro tools does”.

Workspace for auditioning sound effects

2017-03-07 Thread Peter Bosher

Hi All,

The workspace window indexes all drives, and allows for powerful
searching on file names and meta-data.

I need to search through large collections of sound effects, and quickly
audition the results. For example, if I search for shower, crash,
chaffinch, or whatever, I may have over a hundred results.

I can just about audition these but it's incredibly painful. I have to
interact with the list, then when I find one of interest, I shift-click,
stop interacting, find the audition button and click that. Then, when
I interact again, I'm back at the top of the list, so have to VO-cursor
down to number 63 or whatever, then repeat the process.

So, firstly, is there a better way? and secondly, is it something which
FloTools could address?

Best,

Peter
