Re: Factory plugin presets for non-Avid products

2018-03-02 Thread Victor Tsaran
Thanks Slau.
Like I mentioned, the issue is not just with Native Instruments stuff, but
other vendors as well, like Sonivox.
Your point is well taken though.

It is too bad that vendors provide plugins compatible with protools but do
not port the presets.

Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Making Harmony without Harmony engine

2018-03-02 Thread Steve Martin
Sorry I haven’t really used ProTools in a few years so I couldn’t give specific
instructions on how to automate a parameter in Pro Tools. Hopefully someone
else on the list can chime in on that, but if you already know how to automate
any other parameter in pro tools I imagine it would be the same steps.

Re: Factory plugin presets for non-Avid products

2018-03-02 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Vic,
As you know, Native Instruments has a close relationship with Logic. Those
presets are available for AU plug-ins. Avid's preset format is a TFX file.
Unless a developer specifically makes those available, preset browsing is
usually done in a plug-in's own proprietary browser which is almost always
completely inaccessible. People have saved out various plug-in presets in Pro
Tools format and shared them in the Drop Box folder. For effects plug-ins, it's
sometimes feasible to save them out with sighted assistance but with synth
plug-ins, it's pretty much out of the question with hundreds or thousands of
presets.

Re: Protools question

2018-03-02 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Martin,
That's a good question. As far as I know, they do the same thing but it made me
wonder why the asterisk key's function seems to have been duplicated. I'm not
exactly sure about that. I seem to always gravitate toward the asterisk key
myself. If I ever do find out the difference, I'll let you know and please do
the same likewise for the rest of us.

If the purpose is to clear it, yes, but I was just pointing out that one could
treat the data with editing commands like cut, copy, paste, etc. or simply hit
the Delete key. I guess I just think of that as faster rather than going to a
menu item but, if clearing it is the goal then that surely works too.

2018-03-02 Thread Victor Tsaran
Hello all.
I am noticing a strange thing, namely that the factory presets for non-Avid
plugins and instruments do not show up in Protools. For example, in Logic I
can see factory presets for Replica XT, Big Band Universal Drums from
Sonivox, etc, and can load them with no problem. However, opening the same
instruments in Protools does not let me choose any presets. The "next" and
"previous" buttons do not do anything as well.
Any thoughts as to what may be going on and if there is. a way to fix this
situation?

Thanks a lot.
Vic

Hi Niklas,
Actually, you need to switch the Track View Selector to the type of automation
you wish to edit or delete and just select the range and use standard editing
commands. Remember to switch back to waveform display if you want to edit audio.
Hope that helps,
Slau

Hi guys,

Just a quick question:
How do I clear all automation on a track with Voiceover?

I’ve tried searching for it but it is mostly click and drag-solutions.

Best,
Niklas
