VOCR Update

2018-07-10 Thread Chi Kim
Hi All,

There's a small minor update to VOCR.

When you're done exploring the OCR result, pressing escape will disable
next/previous line/words to  free up those 4 shortcuts.

You can just run install vocr macros app to get this feature, but you
might also want to run install command script and update Tesseract if
you haven't updated Tesseract for a while.

The new Tesseract has a new OCR engine based on LSTM neural networks. I
couldn't tell much, but it's supposed to be faster and produce better
result.

Lastly, don't forget to rename OCR Front Windows 27 appropriately.

Here's the download link.

https://github.com/chigkim/VOCR/archive/master.zip

Enjoy,

Chi

Re: How do I select insert slots? Trying to put a virtual instrument on an instrument track

2018-07-10 Thread Rory McDonald
Hi,
I did this, and found that the only instrument plug in i have is reaper stereo.
But when I hit vo space to add it to the project, it just opens reaper. I also
tried downloading and installing the expander 2 plug in with al the
instruments. Its in my plug in maps folder, but when I look for it in the
inserts menu to add it to my project, its not there, only reaper stereo. Any
idea why this is happening? Do I need to uninstall reaper? I didn't even know
reaper and pro tools were related at all.
Also this is slightly off topic, but could I be added to the what's app group?
Thanks.

Rory

Re: How do I select insert slots? Trying to put a virtual instrument on an instrument track

2018-07-10 Thread Niklas Karlsson
Hi,

In either the Edit or Mix window you will see an item with the same name as
your track.
VO will for example say ”Piano, instrument track”.
If you interact with this track you will see more options related to that
specific track.
One of them is ”Inserts”, which you need to interact with to find the different
slots, which are shown as clickable buttons.
Activate the slot you wish to insert a plug-in into, and a menu will pop up
from which you can select your plug-in.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Niklas

Re: Waves Tune

2018-07-10 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Ramy,
AutoTune has the feature and I've tried it successfully but I normally don't
use the feature but rather use the chromatic setting just to fix a few stray
pitches here and there.

can not we use midi to achieve this?
I mean how can we play notes on the keyboard and let wave tune use them
 to fix the vocal track?

Hi tom. I’ve not used it that way.
I probably do all this the wrong way, but it seems to work for me. I
generally use destructive editing when I Pitch correct vocals.
So I copy my vocal track to a new playlist on the track. So i’ve always
got the original to go back to. Then I go through the audio sweet and
select waves tune. I then go in to plug in view and adjust anything I
 want. Then hit render.
I never select the whole track when doing this, Just the bits I want to re
 pitch.

I’ve found waves tune quite good. But i don’t think i have access to
everything. I can’t get it to do everything I want it to do. But maybe I
just haven’t played around with it enough. So I use a combination of auto
tune and waves tune. I also use waves sound shifter, as sometimes i need
to move notes to make them pitch correctly. There is probably a better way
of doing this, But it’s my work flow at the moment, .
