Re: Important update regarding macOS Catalina support

2019-12-18 Thread Steve Sparrow
personally i wouldn’t do it at this stage Chris unless you have a good reason
to upgrade to the new OS. Mojave is very stable here for me, and I really like
the way it works. Hi serra was a pain in the you know what for me when it came
to system grunt, and using a few basic plugins when recording at lower latency.
I personally don’t want to go through that again. So i’m staying wit Majvi for
now.
Just my take on it chris.
Cheers Steve

Fwd: Important update regarding macOS Catalina support

2019-12-18 Thread Christopher Gilland
This is great news, however, I'd be really really careful. Make sure you
read all the info and links provided before you try upgrading.

Slau, if you or anyone else would like to throw any comments in here
from an accessibility standpoint, I'd very much love to hear how it's
working out for you guys.

I'm probably going to upgrade, but I want first to hear specifically in
the blind community how it's working out for others. Right now, I cannot
afford to risk losing functionality.

Chris.

Avid Technology
Before updating please visit our compatibility page.

We are pleased to inform you that today’s release of Pro Tools 2019.12
adds initial support for macOS Catalina. Please note however that at
this time support extends to audio-only workflows and some video workflows.

Our goal with this release is to deliver the most functionality possible
on macOS Catalina, meeting the needs of many of our customers. However,
because Apple has transitioned to a fully 64-bit architecture with macOS
Catalina, which affects Pro Tools’ interaction with certain video file
types, we are not yet able to deliver full macOS Catalina support for
certain video workflows. We are working to deliver full compatibility as
soon as possible.

Before updating to macOS Catalina, please visit our compatibility
 page as well as our
dedicated Pro Tools macOS Catalina support page
 to ensure that your
system and your workflow is fully supported.

All the best,
The Pro Tools Team
