time machine back ups

2020-09-14 Thread Steve Sparrow
hi. I read a post on here last week regarding time machine backups. someone
said that restoring your machine with time machine leads to problems with
protools. hmm. Well i did not know this.
So what is the best solution for backing up correctly. I’d like to do this
quickly in case of disaster. wow. i did not know this at all.
Thanks
Steve

Re: watching level monitor with flo tools in pt 2020."5

2020-09-14 Thread Slau Halatyn
Whenever VoiceOver doesn't "see" a level, it generally means that the actual
display of the meter is off screen, either scrolled to the left or right or
even up or down, if all possible elements within the track's channel strip are
shown.. The difference in screen real estate between the iMac and Mac Book
might have some role as well. Couple of things to try:
1. Zoom the window.
2. Hide any unnecessary inserts and sends.
3. Scroll to the top of the mixer layout with Option+Page Up a couple of times
and, for good measure, press Page Up once or twice.
4. Navigate to the level meter with VoiceOver.

If VoiceOver sees the signal, Flo Tools will see it as well. Keep in mind that
Pro Tools will only display roughly 16 tracks at a time in the mixer so, if you
are looking beyond that number of tracks, VoiceOver will see the channel strips
but the level meters will not respond since they're off screen.

Hope that helps,
Slau

watching level monitor with flo tools in pt 2020."5

2020-09-14 Thread Matt Diemert
Hi all,
Just set up a brand new mac book today with pt and flo tools etc.
However when I double press l on a track to get the level read out nothing
happens. It's passing signal as I can hear the microphone and it records fine.
Any thoughts On what I might be missing here.
Works perfectly fine on my old iMac 2012

Thanks for any suggestions
