On host-based systems, that's the way you handle it. You either take the buffer size to it's lowest value or use Low Latency Monitoring menu option available with certain Avid interfaces.
Solving audio latency problems
Hi, I'm fairly new to PT, so this question is pretty basic. I'm getting a fair amount of audio latency, which is obviously a bit frustrating while I'm trying to stay in solid time with the click track. I only have two tracks in this session, a click track, and a mono audio track routed through my MAudio Fast Track Pro. What is the simplest way to compensate for this latency while recording? I've read somewhere that it might have something to do with the buffer size, but I'm not sure where I would change that. Thanks, Joshua
Re: Pro Tools Not Recognizing MAudio Fast Track Pro
Thanks. Yeah, I guess it does pay to read the manual now and again. Turns out the aggregate interface was selected, and I needed to adjust that in the playback settings. Glad it was less involved than it could have been. -Joshua On Jul 9, 2011, at 4:26 PM, HF wrote: Read the getting started guide which was actually helpful from what I remember. I used a fast track about two years ago when I was a complete Pro Tools newbie. Mine was USB and I had to tell PT to use USB in and USB out in the peripherals dialog which is under the setup menu HF On 7/9/2011 6:18 PM, Joshua Loya wrote: Hello folks, Finally getting around to recording for the first time in PT. It appears as if my MAudio Fasttrack Pro isn't being recognized. GB recognizes it just find, and so does Amadeus. Is there anything I need to do in order to get my interface to work? I'm a complete PT newbie; though, I'm pretty comfortable on the Mac. THanks much, Joshua
Recently upgraded to PT 9 and have some questions.
Hello folks, I just installed PT 8 MP last week, then found out I was eligible for a free upgrade to the recently announced PT 9 MP. I still wanted the extra features in the full version of 9, that aren't in the MP version, so I opted to pay for the upgrade to the full version. The guy at Guitar Center charged me $250, which was $100 less than I expected, and he gave me a full install box. He didn't even check my serial number, or if he did, he just barely glanced at it. In light of this, I have a couple questions: 1. After I run the uninstall PT app on my PT 8 disc, do I need to do anything before I install PT 9? 2. What do I do with the USB dongle that was included in my PT 9 box? I'm not looking to get an extra license I didn't pay for. I'd really appreciate some guidance in this. I've had next to no experience with PT and Avid's authorization scheme. I'm eager to get up and running, but I want to do this right. Thanks a bunch, Joshua
