Turn curser tracking off before clicking. That will open the menu for ya. Hope
this helps.

Out of curiosity, do you have your mouse tethered to the VoiceOver cursor?

Hello Slau, I'm replying to the second part of this post for the input
source. I'm also having the same problem of getting tracks to be in
ascending order with the option and command keys. I tried what you said but
any time I click the mouse while on the input source field with command and
option I get a very quick menu and it closes right away. I can't keep the
menu open no matter what combination I try. With sighted help this works
without voiceover on but I'd like to do it myself. The other thing is I use
the numpad commander and in utilities there's an option to set any modifier
key to toggle numpad commander on and off but this doesn't work. Again, no
matter what key I use such as numpad 6, 7, 8 etc it will only toggle the
numpad commander off and I need to use VO num to get it back on. I'm using
SL 10.6.8 and PT 9.0

Re: Modifier keys

2013-04-06 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi John,

There are two aspects to your question: one is the matter of ordering input
sources to be sequential from a given track and the other is the issue of track
arming.

For input source ordering, on the first input source for which you want to
start the ascending order of inputs, with the VoiceOver cursor focused on the
source pop-up menu, route the mouse pointer to the VoiceOver cursor with
Control-Option-Command-f5. Then, while holding down the Option and Command
modifiers, press either a physical mouse button or a track pad button. The menu
will pop up. Use standard navigation methods to select the channel you want
that track to be assigned to. The subsequent tracks will be assigned in
ascending order of input channels.

The second part can be done in several ways. The long way is to interact with
each track, navigate to the record enable button and press it. It's a bit
shorter to use the Item Chooser to bring up a list, type r e c and the list
will narrow down to record buttons only. Use the arrow keys to go down the
list, press Return and click on the button, repeating it for 10 tracks. A
faster way would be to use Control-Shift-semicolon to extend the track
selection down or across from track 6 through 16 and then press Control-r to
record enable the selected tracks. The fastest way is to use a control
surface's dedicated record buttons.

Hope that helps,

Slau

2013-04-05 Thread CHUCK REICHEL
Hi John,
The fastest and safest way to do that is to hide ALL of the other tracks and
then put the tracks you want to record in to record.
You could also make a group out of those tracks and while in group dialogue
include the "record" as an attribute for that group and go for it?
Then when that group is selected just click on one of the REC buttons and every
things just "Bob"!
I'm sure others will chime in with more tricks though! ;)
Remember the golden PT safety rule!
Only show the tracks you want to deal with!!!

Modifier keys

2013-04-05 Thread John Boral
If a sighted person had 24 tracks and wanted to record on the first ten
tracks starting with input #6 going through to input #16 in order, they
would hit the command and option keys together while clicking the mouse on
the input field of the first track and start with #6. I can't figure out
how to do this either with or without a mouse.
