Re: Nudging audio

2019-11-21 Thread jimmie smith

I found how to do it using stock pro tools plug-ins. Thanks for the heads up, I
really just did not know what to call it. Thanks again.

Hi Jimmy,
I'll tell you how to do what you want to do but, first, let me say that this
method of creating a faux doubling is probably the worst way to go about it. I
won't get into the reasons why because a little Googling of reputable online
sources will explain. That said, do the following:
• Select your original track and duplicate it.
• while in the edit window, press Return to get to the beginning of the session.
• While pressing Option Shift, press Return to select everything to the end of
the timeline.
• Set your nudge value to, say, 10 milliseconds.
• Press the plus key on the numeric keypad at least 2 if not 3 times.

That'll do it.

Nudging audio (sorry for the stupidity)

2012-02-21 Thread Chris Norman
Hiya again,
Sorry, I looked on Google, and couldn't find anything, except something about a
keyboard commands mode, which i couldn't find.

I'm trying to nudge a bunch of audio, so here's what I did.

Acording to the net, if I press option + commands + numpad + or -, that'll
increment or decrement my nudge value, which I did, no feedback from voiceover,
so not sure if I've done that wrong. Next, I highlighted the audio, with numpad
/ start, numpad / end, enter. The audio's definitely selected because it's
showing up in the counter display in the edit window, and it's always worked
before! :-)

Now again according to Google, and (what I thought I'd read) in the Pro Tools
shortcuts file, numpad + and - should nudge the audio, but nothing.

What am I doing right? may be quicker to tell me what I'm doing right! LOL.

Anyways, cheers, and sorry, I'm sure this one's been put on a shite load of
times.

Cheers.

Take care,
Chris Norman

You're only missing 1 step. After you make your selection, you need to separate
it into it's own region. Press command E. Then, when you hit plus or minus,
you'll hear a difference. Hope this helps.

Re: Nudging audio (sorry for the stupidity)

2012-02-21 Thread Chris Norman
Hiya,
Sorry, but I'm not really getting it.

When I select the region now, I hit command e, and it says at selection, or
whatever. Now, when I hit to plus key, it sets my start point to 501.000
(instead of 1.000), minus moves it back again, but the audio doesn't seem to
have moved.

Which thing in the cursor display tool should I have selected ETC? Does one of
your podcasts talk about nudging Kevin? I listened through all of the others,
but the nearest thing I found was the one where you talk about pasting a
phrase, but none of what you did in that works on my system LOL.

Thank you for bearing with me.

Take care,
Chris Norman
