Re: Radio Voice Over

2017-04-26 Thread Sean A. Cummins
Hi Slau,

Sorry about the vague question yesterday, I was on my way out the door
to a client, and I just shot it out there for feedback. And boy did I
ever get it! Herman rebuked me for my piss-pore communications! LOL!

I am aware there are several libraries out there such as the Hollywood
Edge Sound effects library. What I was wondering, was if anyone has
had a good experience with a “catalog/matrix browser” that can enable
a visually impaired producer/engineer to effectively navigate? These
monster libraries are quite menacing to have to negotiate without a
way of finding categories and samples quickly. I know Pro Tools has a
browser, but to my knowledge, we still don’t have any functional use
with Voiceover. And yes, I realize that the Native Kontrol Standard
(NKS) holds promise for the future, but to date, I don’t know of other
significant sound effect libraries that have yes to adopt the NKS
standard.

So, any ideas and or corrections are remorsefully welcome! Grin.

Thanks,

Sean

Hi Sean,
When you say soundscape, what do you mean? Do you mean atmospheric sounds like
sound effects for ambience or do you mean soundscape as an abstraction where
the sound is more musical? For musical sounds, probably Omnisphere is the way
to go. For sound effects, you might consider an effects library like the
Hollywood Edge.
Best,
Slau

Radio Voice Over

2017-04-25 Thread Sean A. Cummins
Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience with the most accessible sound effect
library for creating sound scape? Specifically to be used in radio
voice over work.

Thanks,
Sean
