Re: A few Starter Questions
Hey again. I am aware of the web site you mention. I asked a friend of mine who purchased all three modules if my questions were covered either in the free video content, or in the paid audio. I was told that though virtual instruments are covered in some of the free video content, they are very basic in nature and only discuss how to use the xpand instruments, which as I said, I do not wish to do if I can at all avoid it. I know there is the option of live musicians, but that gets very costly, and it's not something that I can afford on a day in/day out basis. Regarding the midi event editor in version 11; I am told that the tutorials which you speak of are all done with version 10.0. (Not 11.) For this reason, the midi event editor is not covered. So though I appreciate your suggestion of this web site, I don't suppose it's going to help with my current questions. Hi Rosco and welcome to the list. The MIDI Editor is not the window that is fully accessible. It's the MIDI Event List that you want. Rosco, Please stay tuned to the ProToolsWithSpeech.com site, as over the next several weeks there will be several free tutorials added that address your very questions. We have been working to put together several PT 11 videos and the next three or four deal specifically with midi. We also plan to do some demonstrations soon with addictive drums and Keys. Re: A few Starter Questions
Matthew, thank you so much. I will definitely keep an eye out. When you mention "Keys," are you referring to the piano soft synth that simulates the piano used by Alicia Keys? If so, is there a place I can download a trial of it? Do you know if it needs an ILok to be licensed, seeing the inaccessibility of the License Manager? By the way, is there any status on this? Someone, though I can't recall whom, told me that Pace Antipiracy was working on a solution. Also and finally, do you know how much the Keys plugin is, if we are indeed speaking of the same plugin? Finally, I agree with Mister Gilland. I am very much into listenning to and learning about new blind artists. this said, I'd love to buy your stuff, and though I've not directly heard your version of The Old rugged Cross, that is one of my favorite tunes. I'd love to get that album. Especially if the rest of it is also gospel in nature. Best regards, Rosco. - Original Message - From: "mcdiemert ." Good morning, I was speaking of Addictive keys from XLN audio. http://www.xlnaudio.com/addictivekeys While in the AAX version have been difficult to completely customize, there are several presets that once loaded are usable with VoiceOver. Also, though not authorized with an iLok, the XLN audio online installer may require sighted help to get up and going. Take a listen to some of the audio samples there, and I suspect you'll appreciate the sound. Regards: Matt On 7/7/14, Rosco Vittore wrote: > Matthew, thank you so much. Re: A few Starter Questions
Hi Rosco, The MIDI Editor is a graphic piano roll type display similar to the timeline in the Edit window where Midi events are represented in a series of dots and bars. While it's possible to scrub within this window, the accessibility is limited. In the MIDI Event List window, the events are displayed in a table much like other DAWs. It's possible to edit individual parameters in multiple ways. Perhaps that clarifies things a bit. While it's possible to scrub within this window, the accessibility is limited. In the MIDI Event List window, the events are displayed in a table much like other DAWs. It's possible to edit individual parameters in multiple ways. Perhaps that clarifies things a bit. Also, though not authorized with an iLok, the XLN audio online installer may require sighted help to get up and going. Take a listen to some of the audio samples there, and I suspect you'll appreciate the sound. Regards: Matt On 7/7/14, Rosco Vittore wrote: Matthew, thank you so much. - Original Message - From: "mcdiemert ." We have been working to put together several PT 11 videos and the next three or four deal specifically with midi. We also plan to do some demonstrations soon with addictive drums and Keys. Have a good day. - Original Message ----- From: "ramy moustafa" To: Sent: Monday, July 07, 2014 9:15 AM Subject: Re: A few Starter Questions www.protoolswithspeech.com Ramy moustafa saber Musicc instructor at: faculty of musical education music arranger and sound engineer Sent from my iPhone On Jul 7, 2014, at 2:26 PM, "Rosco Vittore" wrote: Hello ladies and gentlemen. I am new to this list, though not new at all to the concept of digital audio recording. I recently bought a copy of Pro-Tools version 11, which I am running on an IMac with OSX 10.9 Mavericks. I seem to be doing decently with what I have taught myself so far regarding this amazing masterpiece of software. I have a few questions, if you all will spare me. I am curious to know if there are any people on this list who are using Pro-Tools 11 that can briefly explain to me the concept of editing bad notes which I have played via midi. From what I'm told, the midi event editor is now accessible in version 11. This is honestly one thing that held me back from using PT for the longest of time. I'll admit that I am quite old school.
