No, I would not actually use it for any serious production work. You're
much better off with the mac and vo for that, but the one thing that vo
doesn't have is an off screen model so we have no way of actually looking at
and navigating the gui itself. And I'm not proposing that VO should add an
osm, we really want to get away from that, it's so nineties.

So does this mean that PT is starting to be accessible on windows?

Subject: A major breakthrough, I think
Hi:
Well, I went ahead and installed pt9 on win 7. I wanted to see if I could
save for example an ivory preset as a pro tools preset and then import it
into the mac version. Since I can use the jaws cursor on the windows pt,
I am able to get around in the plug/in ui for stuff that is not accessible
with VO. It works. I created a session on windows with an instrument
track and inserted ivory (finding the insert points on the track strip was
a bit of a pita but there are tool tips and if you turn off other stuff
you'll get one to use.) Once I inserted ivory, I was able to get around
on it to load a factory setup of one of their grands, which played on the
windows system fine. I then saved that as a pt preset and then exported
it. Then on the mac side I copied the saved preset over the network to a
folder I created and imported it into pt9 and it plays. So I should be
able to create gpo setups like this, which would be really cool, as well
as trillion and drum kit superior stuff.

Awesome. I've got my Pro Tools 8 dissks, so I'll try to install it from
there and see if I can get it working in stand alone mode.
