Re: Avids website - a veritable nightmare
Hi, I wrote the webmaster of Avid about these major accessibility issues and it does not work on the pc as none of those items are links you can activate with the keyboard. When I called them today they filled all of this information for me so now my pro tools 11 is registerd and working. Well maybe i overdo it a little when i call Avids website a nightmare. Most things are usable but for two things. For one, when you want to change your password there’s a captcha that is very hard to beat. I had to have sighted assistance to manage it and secondly, and here’s where i need your help, good people: I’m trying to register my copy of Protools 11 so that i can download it to my computer. All goes well, with entering various address info and phone numbers etc, then i enter the second page of the web form, where i am to describe what i use PT for, and the only mandatory field there is the ”purchase date” field. Unfortunately this field seems not at all recognizable to Voiceover, for it says ”text clickable” and ”image” and nothing whatsoever happens when i try clicking with the vo+space command and i can’t route the mouse there, and even when i can, nothing happens when i physically click the mouse, i can’t type text in, i can’t do anything with that field. Anyone experienced this and have a workaround? /Krister -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Pro Tools Accessibility" group. Re: Avids website - a veritable nightmare
Hi Krister, Call +1-650-731-6300 and follow the prompts for help with registration. You'll get somebody on the phone who might be able to assist you. I tried to type into that field and, coincidentally, somehow entered January 2014 even though I was trying to enter December 2013. At any rate, I managed to get a date into the field even though it's not accessible. The division that deals with the phone support for registration and the like is called Avid Customer Success. They helped me with a reset of the password because of the CAPTCHA and they might even be able to help with the creation of an account.
