Re: Protools question

2018-03-02 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Martin,
That's a good question. As far as I know, they do the same thing but it made me
wonder why the asterisk key's function seems to have been duplicated. I'm not
exactly sure about that. I seem to always gravitate toward the asterisk key
myself. If I ever do find out the difference, I'll let you know and please do
the same likewise for the rest of us.

RE: Protools question

2018-03-02 Thread Martin (Punky) Sopart
Hello Slau!

Also for my documentation...

Is there a difference using Numpad-Equals or Numpad-Asterisk to update the main
counter?

Thanks! / Martin

Re: Protools question

2018-02-22 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Christian,
If you have the MIDI Event List open and you have made a selection, as you've
probably learned, you cannot use the up/down arrows. Apart from using
"insertion follows playback" (which has it's advantages and disadvantages), the
easiest way to update the Main counter is to press the equals or asterisk key
on the num pad during playback and then press Enter on the num pad. You can
either do this from an extended keyboard or using Flo Num Pad. Playback will
start instantly so, if you want to stop the transport, just press the space bar
again.
hope that helps,
Slau
