Just for the record, I wasn't bashing them either... At least, not purposely. PT is a really awesome DAW, and I absolutely do still use it a fair amount, and I don't think I'll ever totally ditch it, if I can help it, but yeah... Again as I said the other day, maybe my message on list was really more harsh than necessary in tone, but this is something I'm incredibly passionate about. Chris, have found that as well. I'd even go as far as saying that reaper has allowed me to do way more than I could do in pro tools, I.e, way more pluggins are fully accessible inside the daw itself, control surface seems to be a hell of a lot better even though you need to tweek things a bit when setting up stuff for the first time... But its all worth it, imo. I'm not bashing avid or anyone who use pro tools, but as Chris put it, this got to a point where this is beyond ridiculous, and where one switches do to problems like these. I understand it might not be industry-standard, but, I've been able to do pretty much anything and everything in reaper that I ever would've done and pro tools. this might piss some people off me making this rant here on list, but I call it for what it is. And what it is, is, ridiculous! take it or leave it, you can agree with my assessment, or you can decide to disagree, but either way, I'm not changing my view on this. Re: protools 2024.3
I guess, we are just never going to see a single day in our lives when ProTools, voiceover, and Sonoma will be a reality. Let's face it. We're already into the month of March, and that means we only have three months until the next major operating system for the Mac is released, whatever it will be outside of Sonoma. this is pretty much exactly why I have switched to my primary daw being reaper. I'm sorry to say it, but I have almost completely lost respect for avid at this point. I understand the argument that people like Slau have made about them having to get things right, and how professional industries can't afford to have things breaking in a production environment, but, there comes a point where this becomes absolutely ridiculous! They have had more than ample amount of time over this last year, nearly year and a half to get things working. reaper pretty much worked almost within three months after Sonoma was released.
No. Do not update to the latest version of ProTools if you are on Sonoma. The combination is a very bad one for voiceover, and makes pro tools almost completely unusable Rocco Fiorentino www.musicbyrocco.com (609)922-3838 > On Mar 8, 2024, at 10:53 AM, Ronald Glaser wrote: > > is it now safe to update to the latest version of macosx since from what I > can tell avid now supports sanoma? > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "Pro Tools Accessibility" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to ptaccess+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > To view this discussion on the web visit > https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/ptaccess/d8944b5c-e314-513d-ca34-b060c3e5a2d3%40gmail.com. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Pro Tools Accessibility" group.
