Hi All, Gonna cross send to both pt and logic access groups on this one.
Been a minute since i last jumped in but i've been twisting neurons to get presets working for chipsounds from plog, an 8-bit synthesizer which emulates all the 8-bit processed sounds from atari, sega, commodre, spectrum, nintendo etc. I have been going back and forth with the developer who is now considering making the instrument accessible but i found a way in the meantime to load presets on different daws. The plugin is available as au and vst. The plugin costs 100USd but it's worth it with the great sounds that are generated from this little gem. The method for getting the presets is a bit difficult and you need a system setup for it, but it works everytime, from then you can save the preset in any daw if you want to hold onto the preffered presets are as there are 250 of them and none is described unfortunately because of UI inaccessibility. So here's the method: 1- Go to download the mouse positioning and click command line tool at" http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=2008051406323031 Just download the ready compiled application. 2- Move the application to your /usr/bin folder via terminal. The syntax is as follows Sudo mv ~/Downloads/click /usr/bin Type your root password to get it done. 3-install your plugin, fire up your daw, make a track with chipsounds as instrument. 4- Make sure that mouse ignores voice over cursor in voice over utility before proceeding 5- Open terminal, and type the following click command with options as specified Click -x 762 -y 559 These are the exact coordinates for loading your presets, it's actually on a down arrow which sifts through the list of their available presets. From now, your mouse should have gone to the correct coordinates on the screen. Confirm this with vo F5 twice. If your voice over utility announces position as inches, switch it to pixels. 6- Open your daw to the chipsounds window and turn vo off with command or command fn f5 7- click away with your trackpad and your sounds will come out through the keyboard when playing it. I know it's a long process right now, but i'll get to making an applescript app which you can bind to a gesture or key press to make it easier. However, it just works as it is right now. I was thinking that this method can probably work with other plugins if they allow direct or almost direct access to presets if there's a defined pattern to loading them. Hope someone enjoys chipsounds as much as ido. They go great with other effects such as rob papin's sets and even default ones combined sound pretty damn good. Best Yuma
