Re: small interface to take traveling that works with pro tools 10 and 11
Hi: the Roland capture x series interfaces are quite good. I have the capture x 2 which runs on 3 AA batteries or usb bus power. You are of course better off with the batteries especially if you want to use condenser mics with phantom power. the mic preamps are very adequate, and you can get the latency down to 96 samples if you have a powerful enough mac book and are not loading up a ton of plugins. It also will work with the apple camera kit on an iPad, there is a switch on the back to put it in to the appropriate mode. And it does go up to 96k sampling and is very sturdy and compact. It is usb2, I know you wanted thunderbolt, but this is surprisingly good. Firewire is on the way out as far as I can tell, though presonus still makes a mobile line of interfaces. Hi, I would like something that can run off of the mac book pro's power and does not require an external power source. Reading about these interfaces these all require some type of power source and are not bus powered directly off of the computer. If I wish to record at 96 KHZ when traveling and only wish to plug in my mac book pro or run it off of battery is there no interface that has phantom power and will work well with pro tools? Hi, How many inputs and outputs does this interface have and does it have any major accessibility issues I should know about? small interface to take traveling that works with pro tools 10 and 11
Hi, I was wondering what is a good small interface I can connect either using thunderbolt or other connector that has both the XLR and quarter inch connectors and headphone plugs hopefully two and also provides phantom power and can record up to 96KHZ and will work with pro tools 10 and 11? I don't need a control surface as I have my divi 003 at home for the mixing. I would rather have something that ran off of the mac book pro's power and did not require another power source. What is a good interface for this purpose basically something I can put into a suitcase and have ready in seconds once a microphone is put into it?
