Re: waves vocal override plugin

2017-04-29 Thread TheOreoMonster
Waves does have a demo, so grab it and try it out. That being said while I am
not a Vocal Rider user the AudioUnit versions of the waves plugs I have used in
logic does seem to work well enough with out the need for a surface so if you
are a logic user also thats something to consider. Also if vocal rider doesn’t
end up being as useable as you’d like Gain Reduction deluxe maybe worth a look
also.

Thanks for your response. I am somewhat new to this all, so I may ask

I guess I will have to install and see what happens.

Re: waves vocal override plugin

2017-04-29 Thread Slau Halatyn
Chris,
You've contributed links to articles of general interest and that's fine, of
course, and I'm sure anyone would agree that it's understandable why one would
want to stay on top of accessibility developments. That makes 100% sense. My
comment is simply that the framing of something in a way that doesn't
necessarily help in the context of the list is not particularly useful. By all
means, contribute what you'd like but consider whether it really does help.
I've surely contributed to the noise on many occasions, we all have. Thanks for
understanding.

So, back to my original question, can I use this plugin with
voiceover? It sounds like a very useful plugin for some of my
workflow. I wrote to the person at waves, but have not received an
answer yet.

ok, I shall refrain from posting. I only read
here because I like seeing what accessibility
developments are taking place in the Mac world,
and I enjoy being on a mailing list to do with
music production that actually has professionals
on it, and a decent enough signal-to-noise ratio.
Sorry for contributing to the noise portion.

Re: waves vocal override plugin

2017-04-29 Thread Slau Halatyn
As this is a Pro Tools access list dealing with VoiceOver, yes, of course, it's
off topic. So why bring it up? Why add comments like, "Well, over on the
Windows side…" Should I go over to some Windows accessibility list and say,
"Well, over on the Mac side…" Would that help the Windows users?
Come to think of it, Chris, you don't use or even own Pro Tools. Why do you
bother following along here? Just curious.

it's as accessible or not as any Waves plugin, over on the windows
side. i.e. parameters are exposed in a handy list in either Reaper or
Samploitude. That's off-topic for here though.

Hi Chuck,
Yeah, I do have the fader port 8, but was just wondering if voiceover saw the
controls so that I could use plugin monitoring from within flo tools to be able
to adjust values. That’s great that they work well with a control surface.
Very happy.

So if you have a controller you should be able to use any Waves plugs.

Re: waves vocal override plugin

2017-04-28 Thread Sean A. Cummins
Hi Chuck,

I had filled out the survey that waves had sent to me recently.

My company has recommended Waves product for years, and I have
continued to converse with their support regarding accessibility.

Also, for everyone’s information, the latest Waves 9.91 bundle has now
implemented complete mapped control for all of their plug-ins for the
Avid S3 and S6S control surfaces. This is a big step in the right
direction, and if EuCon were to have a “Speech Tab” integrated into
the EuCon control protocol, just imagine what long term access there
would be in a global fashion. The EuCon control would then be able to
communicate with the OS’s speech directly like the Native Instruments
Kontrol.

And to all that may write Waves, remember the adage, “You catch more
flies with honey, then you do using vinegar.” Wink!

Re: waves vocal override plugin

2017-04-27 Thread Chris Smart

do you mean Vocal Rider? or, do they have something new called vocal Override?

It works great for me in Windows DAW's that support VST3 plugins. You
should be fine in ProTools.

Think of it as more automated automation, giving cleaner results than
just piling on several compressors.

I suppose I will need the assistance to have the waves license manager
installed as well and any other hints will be appreciated.

waves vocal override plugin

2017-04-27 Thread John Covici
Hi. Waves is having a sale on their vocal override plugin till the
end of the month and I would like to know if I can use this plugin
with protools and voiceover.

I suppose I will need the assistance to have the waves license manager
installed as well and any other hints will be appreciated.
