Re kernelmajversion, there's honestly no clear contract on what major means (and even kernel version is a bit squishy), especially across entire os families. But given that facter 2 reported the os major as just 11 but reported the kernel major as 11.2 just seems like a bug. So facter 3 is more consistent.
