However, it has made the circumstances surrounding PUP-7326 worse. For instance, puppet resource group would return an unresolved SID in the output in SID string form like S-1-5-XX. Now it immediately errors with the message about being unable to resolve the SID without returning any output. We're currently evaluating a quick / incomplete fix for the 4.10 LTS series and a more thorough refactor for the 5.3 series. All examples but the first are broken. Below are changes that will fix them and related text. 'Hosts' and 'Nodes' are used inconsistently. Everywhere it says 'Hosts' should say 'Nodes', same with code that uses {{hosts:}} should use {{nodes:}} instead.The example after "Override a user for a specific node." should also use {{name:}} instead of {{host:}}. Also {{transport:}} should be {{transports:}}.[https://puppet.com/docs/bolt/0.x/inventory_file.html#objects] where it talks about the Host is slightly unclear about there being examples of 3 different formats shown. I'd like to rename the Host entry to Node and update it to{quote}... For example, a node block could contain any of the following{code}- "host1.example.com"- name: "host1.example.com"- name: "host1.example.com" config:transport: "ssh"{code}{quote}The Group entry should be updated to say "{{nodes : Nodes}} object ..."

Puppet Version: 5.4.0 Puppet Server Version: OS Name/Version: RHEL 7.4 The handling of selinux file parameters seems to have changed between 5.3.5 and 5.4.0. Specifically, we are managing some .k5login files as type 'krb5_home_t': file { "${basedir}/${name}/.k5login": seltype => 'krb5_home_t' } As of when we upgraded to v5.4.0, puppet has been trying to reset the parameters every run, e.g.: Feb 20 15:16:50 04 puppet-agent[99767]: (/Stage[main]/P_puppet_server:: Automation::User/K5login[/var/lib/foo/.k5login]/seluser) seluser changed to 'user_u' Feb 20 15:16:50 04 puppet-agent[99767]: (/Stage[main]/P_puppet_server:: Automation::User/K5login[/var/lib/foo/.k5login]/selrole) selrole changed to 'object_r' Feb 20 15:16:50 04 puppet-agent[99767]: (/Stage[main]/P_puppet_server:: Automation::User/K5login[/var/lib/foo/.k5login]/seltype) seltype changed to 'krb5_home_t' Feb 20 15:16:50 04 puppet-agent[99767]: (/Stage[main]/P_puppet_server:: Automation::User/K5login[/var/lib/foo/.k5login]/selrange) selrange changed t o 's0' Downgrading to 5.3.5 reverts the behavior - e.g. the values are no longer updated every run. Note that selinux is off on these hosts anyway. Desired Behavior: don't change every run Actual Behavior: tries to change every run

This change ensures that type parameter that defaults to false is correctly set to false rather than nil.
