But we just check it, print the error, and then go ahead and save anyway. We need to update this to actually gate the saving on the result of validate_certificate_with_key. Then we can probably remove the agent-side instructions in the error message, since no action will be needed once the cert on the master has been cleaned. Thus, the work in this ticket consists of printing a warning message indicating that the home property is irrelevant on Windows for backwards compatibility. The exec provider takes an environment parameter that takes either a string or an array of variables. Each variable is expressed as a pair, like "KEY=value" for example. The problem is that the code that parses this string requires a value whereas this is not strictly necessary, like "KEY=" should be perfectly acceptable. The code in Puppet::Provider::Exec.run looks like this: {code:none} if setting =~ /^(\w+)=((.|\n)+)$/ env_name = $1 value = $2 {code} Simply changing the regular _expression_ to use "*" instread of "+" for the value should work just fine: {code:none} irb(main):001:0> setting = 'KEY='=> "KEY="irb(main):002:0> setting =~ /^(\w+)=((.|\n)+)$/=> nilirb(main):003:0> setting =~ /^(\w+)=((.|\n)*)$/=> 0irb(main):004:0> $1=> "KEY"irb(main):005:0> $2=> "" {code} So, the value of empty string is exactly what was requested.

Puppet6 will error if a module contains an empty init.pp. The [module documentation|https://puppet.com/docs/puppet/5.3/modules_fundamentals.html ] says, "init.pp: Contains a class definition. The init.pp class, if used, is the main class of the module. This class's name must match the module's name."So the init.pp file is optional, but we don't specify whether the file can exist, but be empty or if it only contains a defined type.We discovered in Modules MODULES -7854 that some people may have empty {{init.pp}} and puppet should be more lenient.
