 Currently, Bolt accepts any available option for each command, even if that option shouldn't be available. Bolt should reject the option and notify the user that it is invalid instead.   For example available options for 'bolt plan show' does not include --targets. However, the command 'bolt plan show --targets localhost' will still run.

 This release fixes regression errors introduced in Puppet 6.7.0:

When using the `mailalias` resource type, Puppet was unable to parse certain files and returned errors.
When using the `puppetlabs-ciscopuppet` module, automatic relationships, such as autorequire, could cause the catalog application to fail.
 Puppet 6.7.1 was never released. You can see the full list of changes in the release notes https://puppet.com/docs/puppet/6.7/release_notes_puppet.html   cc Sara Meisburger Jean Bond here is the final release announcement

 Bolt currently uses the Ruby (OpenSSL) implementation for connecting to WinRM over a secure channel. In order to utilise host verification a root certificate must be explicitly supplied (command line or config file) or added to the Bolt installation. Being able to use the built-in Schannel provider would enable use of automatically-distributed CA certificates in a Windows environment, without further configuration. This would make (secure) use of Puppet in a Windows-dominated (enterprise) environment much simpler.

 I've seen more than a few cases where an error occurred due to the user (even SEs) running an old version of Bolt. One possibility is to augment only the error message with an update notification. For example:

 Starting: plan test

 Finished: plan test in 0.02 sec

 {

   "kind": "bolt/pal-error",

   "msg": "Evaluation Error: Unknown function: 'puppetdb_query'. (file: /Users/kevin.reeuwijk/.puppetlabs/bolt/site-modules/test/plans/init.pp, line: 11, column: 13)",

   "details": {

   "updateinfo" : "You are running v1.2.0, the latest version is v1.26.0. Consider upgrading!"

 }

 I don't think bolt update check will improve our upgrade rate. If you think to check you're probably already upgrading. I think this either needs to be a CLI message or it's probably not worth doing.

 Henrik Lindberg I agree we'll need to load the resource types. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the "work" though. One of our longer term goals is to make bolt more resource aware. During a plan you should be able to discover resources and track changes made to those resources. The get_resources function is the first step towards this.

 My understanding is that the config should be logged with debug only at puppet agent startup, daemon or not. Garrett Guillotte, pls confirm.   On floaty centos-7-x86_64, this will add extra ~200 lines to already existing ~5000 in debug mode. Following PA-2701, puppet agent no longer uses puppetres.dll as the EventMessageFile, so puppetres.dll should not be installed on versions containing this fix. To be merged together with PA-2701.
