Jira (FACT-1853) facter networking is very slow on OpenStack compute node
Title: Message Title Gabriel Nagy commented on FACT-1853 Re: facter networking is very slow on OpenStack compute node Hi Chris Card, Mateusz Gozdek, We believe this is linked to LTH-162 and how open file descriptors are handled on Linux (GitHub PR). This should be fixed now, and puppet-agent builds with the fix should be available on the nightlies page over the next few days: http://nightlies.puppet.com/ Add Comment This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v7.7.1#77002-sha1:e75ca93) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Bugs" group. Jira (FACT-1853) facter networking is very slow on OpenStack compute node
Title: Message Title Mateusz Gozdek commented on FACT-1853 Re: facter networking is very slow on OpenStack compute node I also have problem with this unfortunately, but even for smaller amount of interfaces. Facter version: 3.11.4 (commit dc7babfd0ad4523a72d3366cd4f4322add9c3b4b) OS: Arch Linux I have bunch of docker virtual interfaces and with total of 14, it takes 10 seconds to resolve networking fact. It takes 8 seconds to run `/usr/bin/dhcpcd -U` and then `/usr/bin/ip link show` for all interfaces. Jira (FACT-1853) facter networking is very slow on OpenStack compute node
Title: Message Title Chris Card updated an issue Facter / FACT-1853 facter networking is very slow on OpenStack compute node Change By: Chris Card When run on an OpenStack compute node with more than 1100 interfaces, the command "facter networking" is very slow. For example, it takes 140 seconds with about 1170 interfaces. Running with the -d option shows that a subprocess is run for each interface, running /sbin/ip link show .This makes puppet runs very slow.We are running on CentOS 7, with puppet-agent-5.3.3-1.el7.x86_64, facter 3.9.3 Add Comment This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v7.7.1#77002-sha1:e75ca93) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Bugs" group.
