The userprefs class, which I think comes from this module https://forge.puppet.com/pltraining/userprefs, appears in the file twice, consistently enough that there is a reminder in the lecture notes that makes reference to this ticket. Another student in the class who did classification manually via site.pp did not see the duplicate entry. Christopher Price and Nick Lewis suspect that this is happening when an ENC is in use, because the ENC is returning classes that get added to the list which are also added a second time during compilation.
