[Puppet Users] puppetrun not executing or seeing changes

2010-03-04 Thread Matt
More puppet run woes, is anyone using this feature successfully?

I've got it working so the master can trigger the runs, but the client
doesn't see any changes to do when the run is triggered.

On the client
# puppetd --test --noop
Shows the changes that are going to happen

On the master
# puppetrun --host server.local
The client polls, I see the compiled catalogue in the masters log, but the
clients logs say there is no change to do.

Running 0.25.1, does this work in 0.25.4?

If i'm wasting my time on this, then i'll probably go down the mcollective
route, though this is OTT for what I need right now :-S

Cheers,

Matt

2010-03-04 Thread Daniel Kerwin
I've been using puppetrun for a while now and it works very good. Can
you post the log messages on puppetmaster and client?

I started to use it in 0.25.1 and never had problems.

Re: [Puppet Users] puppetrun not executing or seeing changes

2010-03-04 Thread Michael DeHaan
Somewhat OT -- I'm still due (overdue) to take puppetrun out back and
shoot^W and upgrade it to better support wildcarded hosts and non-LDAP
databases if not supplying the name, etc.

Look for some upgrades next week.

 Think I found it - http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2789
All my classes on the debug output for both master/client have - Not tagged
 with appended.

 puppetrun --host myserver.kc.local --tags myclass

Also doesn't work. I'll try the patch, or maybe upgrade to 0.25.4

 Cheers,

 Matt

Re: [Puppet Users] puppetrun not executing or seeing changes

2010-03-04 Thread Matt
0.25.4 fixed my issue, so that's cool. It'll be great to have the
--no-client option working in the puppet.conf file though, as i'm going to
have to hack the init.d script to get this option in :-s
