Do you need a desktop or a rackmount type of switch ? Anyway for a low
budget and good overall qsuality I suggest you to take some HP gear.
D-Link or Netgear are really end-user material, and in a way really
buggy and not as affordable as that compared to HP or Dell.

External power supply is bad, but one port can be used to PoE which
means the external power supply can be dropped

For 50$ more you will be able to by a much more powerful switch which
allow connecting via a seriel interface. The HP 1910-8G Switch.

Smart switches only have a web interface which means your only option,
should your configuration be screwed, will be to do a hardware reset
and the start all over again. If you have a serial interface you will
not be locked out. This is like having a VM without console interface
and only be able to connect via net. If you loose your net you loose
your access to the VM.

Hello guys

I wonder if some one here had bad or good experience with Proxmox and
IPMI, regarding an HA Cluster...

I am about to work on a scenario where we have:

1 - An IBM Storage

2 - Two IBM x3650 M4 to cluster nodes...

Some tip??

You might wish to consider this:
https://www.us-cert.gov/ncas/alerts/TA13-207A
which lists IPMI as a security risk if managed insecurely. Ric
