The OpenVZ team does not provide that. I have no qualms with you having switched from OpenVZ to LXC... but just to clarify, OpenVZ Legacy does indeed exist, gets regular updates, and will be supported until Nov. 2019 as seen here: https://wiki.openvz.org/Download/kernel While it is true that the EL6-based OpenVZ kernel branch is no longer the focus of their future development (Virtuozzo 7 is obviously), they are supporting it and will continue to. Re: [PVE-User] Mastering Proxmox - a book about Proxmox VE is finally available
Greetings, - Original Message - Link to Amazon (ebook and paperback available): http://www.amazon.com/dp/1783980826/ref=rdr_ext_tmb I bought the Kindle version... viewed it in the Amazon Cloud Reader... made screenshots... and assembled a PDF of images for my own personal use. I haven't gone through it completely but it seems like a great covering of the material. The only thing that irks me when I read it is the author just uses the word Proxmox rather than Proxmox VE'... everywhere. Heck ven in the book title. It should be Mastering Proxmox VE not Mastering Proxmox. :( TYL, -- Scott Dowdle 704 Church Street Belgrade, MT 59714 (406)388-0827 [home] (406)994-3931 [work] ___ pve-user mailing list pve-user@pve.proxmox.com http://pve.proxmox.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pve-user
Re: [PVE-User] Container less secure than KVM?
Greetings, - Original Message - I have notice that I can access the entire FileSystem of a OpenVZ Container, from Proxmox... Is that right? For my point of view, this is a security breach, once I can remove all files in /var/lib/vz/private/VMID!!! Or am I wrong? That's how it has been (to the best of my knowledge) since SWsoft create Virtuozzo in 2001 and released OpenVZ in 2005. About two years ago they added the ability to use disk image with ploop... kinda like how KVM does it. It isn't a security breach. You can also remove KVM VM disk images from the host node... and if you have libguestfs and tools installed, you can access the internals of those disk images and alter things as desired. Any other questions? :) TYL, -- Scott Dowdle 704 Church Street Belgrade, MT 59714 (406)388-0827 [home] (406)994-3931 [work] ___ pve-user mailing list pve-user@pve.proxmox.com http://pve.proxmox.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pve-user
