That doesn't follow for me.
Why are more options better?

There should be one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do it.

Having a bucketload of linked distros is just going to be confusing for 
new users...

I'm +1. That they care about getting the link posted is enough reason
for me to add it. If the site would only contain stuff I've hear of,
it would be pretty small :-)
