My Kinesis Maxim doesn't have the issue described in the article. I can
hold down as many keys as I like (within the limits of 2 hands) and all
 other keys work fine.

When I bought a kinesis keyboard, it was US$180. I'd certainly hope
that for that kind of money you'd get a diode in each key!

Also, this was discussed here not long ago. A quick search of the archives
finds these threads:

http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/pygame-users/2264576
http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/pygame-users/2110121

But I recall a more recent discussion, too. The bottom line seems to be
that keyboards vary, and relying on the keyboard to report more than one
'major' (as opposed to modifier) key as down at a time is unreliable.

There is a keyboard made for gaming under the Razr brand that can have
unlimited simultaneous keypresses.

I haven't heard of any other.
I believe it makes the circuit a little more complicated, which is why
it's not yet common to do it that way.

The Razr keyboard is at least $100, though, IIRC.

Python *IS* pseudocode :)

That is, you often can't get any more readable and clear than the

Yes, you need a diode for each key. Not hugely
expensive, but I guess most manufacturers don't
consider it worth the bother for a feature that
usually isn't needed.
