the file regex.h from tcltk-8.3.4 caused this problem.
Is there a workaround for this ?

thanks Martin

[pygtk] ZvtTerm question

2002-09-04 Thread Steve McClure

I guess this might not strictly be a PyGnome (is there a mailing list
for PyGnome) question but, is there anyway to set the hints so that I
can limit the resize to character size blocks?

I'm having a problem where some parts of the screen will become black
after executing a shell in the ZvtTerm and then doing an ls -l. I'm
setting the COLORTERM environment variable. Once the window is resized
by the user the problem goes away. This is with pygnome 1.4.1-1, and
pygtk 0.6.8-3. Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Re: [pygtk] Full Screen Window

2002-09-04 Thread Rob Brown-Bayliss

One of the ideas I tried was:
 window = GtkWindow(WINDOW_TOPLEVEL)
 window.set_policy(0,0,1)
 window.set_position(WIN_POS_CENTER)
 window.set_uposition(0,0)
 window.set_usize(screen_width(), screen_height())

This works fine without any wm (e. G. starting from the fail-safe xterm
session), but when sawfish is active, it doesn't work (the window is
shifted right and down, and the border is visible).

did you ever sort this out? I have been using this:

window.set_decorated(gtk.FALSE)

for a similar situation, but alas under sawfish it works once in myabe 5
or 10 goes, then the rest of the times the border shows and I get the
right and down shift you had.

[pygtk] images in a treeview - howto

2002-09-04 Thread florian

hi!

im trying to display a small png image in a row of a treeview.
i was wondering how exactly thats possible.

i've heard that i just have to give the pixbuf object to the
listStore, just like i normaly give strings to it, is this
correct?

how do i have to define the column though, where the pixbuf
will be display? since there is no gobject.TYPE_PIXBUF or
something..

any other tips? or maybe just a super small example?

thanks alot!

ciao!
florian

First of all, you can get the character cell size as term.charwidth and
term.charheight.

You can then use the set_geometry_hints() method on the toplevel GtkWindow:
win.set_geometry_hints(geometry_widget=term,
width_inc=term.charwidth, height_inc=term.charheight)

This should get the window to resize in the desired increments.

Setting those sort of hints after mapping the window has undefined
results, which might be causing the problems you see.

I believe that there will be a set_fullscreen() method available in gtk
2.2 that should work with all EWMH compliant window managers to toggle
your window in full screen mode (ie. the window manager will remove
decorations and resize the window to full screen for you).

The gnome-terminal app has some code to do this (term-window.c,
terminal_window_set_fullscreen), but it is using direct Xlib calls,
which we don't have wrappers for in pygtk.

yes, after setting the window default invisible (in glade) and then
doing the wm stuff and calling show() seems to have sorted it out.

Thanks

It is a bit difficult to tell what to do, as I don't know what is in the
headers on your system. Do you have a different regex.h file on your
system? Maybe try temporarily moving/renaming the one from tcl?
